I’m all for educational tools, but let’s not pretend this is a game. Smarty Buddy is a digital workbook. The UI is utilitarian and lacks the charm or engagement found in superior educational apps like Toca Boca or even PBS Kids. It’s clearly marketed to parents who are anxious about their children’s test scores rather than the children themselves.
The logic puzzles are fine—they follow standard CogAT and NNAT patterns—but there’s no narrative or rewarding loop to keep a child engaged without adult supervision. It’s a very conservative approach to 'edutainment' that leans far more on the 'edu' than the 'tainment.' As a parent, I’d use this as a study aid, but as a gamer, I find it incredibly dull.
