The result is a chaotic mess of sumos bouncing around the screen, which almost always ends in laughter.

While the single-player mode is a bit shallow, the game is built for local multiplayer. Playing 2-vs-2 on a single iPad is where the game truly shines. The matches are short and intense, making it a perfect 'palette cleanser' between more serious games or a great way to settle a friendly argument. It doesn't take itself seriously, and neither should you. It’s silly, it’s frantic, and it’s a great addition to any social gaming folder.

I’m not one for 'party games' that rely on randomness, and Soccer Sumos is about as random as it gets. The one-button control scheme is accessible, sure, but it also means you aren't really playing so much as you are reacting to chaos. It’s fine for a quick laugh with friends, but as a serious game, it lacks any staying power or mechanical depth. I grew bored within fifteen minutes.
