Sorare is essentially a marketplace wearing the skin of a fantasy manager. The 'gameplay' consists of picking a lineup and then waiting—no real-time tactics, no depth beyond the initial selection. It feels more like day-trading than managing a team.
The interface is slick enough, I suppose, but the barrier to entry is absurd. If you want to actually win anything significant, you’re expected to drop real cash on 'digital collectibles.' Back in my day, we called these cards, and they didn't require a blockchain to tell us they were rare. It’s a conservative approach to sports management that prioritizes monetization over meaningful player agency. If you aren't ready to treat your hobby like a financial portfolio, there’s very little here for you.
