As someone who appreciates mechanical history, I wanted to like SovietCar more than I did. The car models are surprisingly detailed, and there’s a certain grim, nostalgic charm to the environments. It captures that drab, industrial aesthetic perfectly. However, the driving itself is a chore. The physics are 'realistic' in the sense that the cars are heavy and slow, but the touch controls are imprecise and frustrating. The world, while large, is completely empty. There’s no traffic, no people, no sense of life—just you and the gray pavement. It feels like a project that was abandoned halfway through development. It’s more of a virtual museum for Soviet cars than a functioning game. Unless you have a specific obsession with Cold War-era machinery, there’s not much here to keep you engaged.
