Dinsun here. I’ve always enjoyed a good tycoon game—there’s something satisfying about a well-oiled machine. But Steel Mill Manager is just a series of progress bars with a gray skin. There’s no actual management here; you’re not making decisions about market fluctuations or labor relations. You’re just clicking a button to make a number go up so you can buy a more expensive button. It’s a very conservative take on the genre that takes no risks.

The UI is functional but drab, which I suppose fits the 'steel mill' theme, but it’s not particularly engaging to look at for long periods. Like every other idle game, the initial progress is fast to hook you, then it slows to a glacial crawl to encourage you to watch 'boost' ads or buy 'premium currency.' It lacks the soul of the classic tycoon games I grew up with. It’s just another factory for your time and attention, and the output isn't worth the input.
