I’ve played my fair share of rod hockey in actual basements, and while Stinger attempts to capture that specific mechanical tension, it mostly reminds me why some things shouldn't go digital. The physics are competent, sure, but the lack of tactile resistance makes the whole experience feel hollow. It’s a distraction for a commute, nothing more. I find the AI predictable and the variety of rinks to be a surface-level coat of paint on a shallow engine.

After an hour, you've seen everything the game has to offer. In a market saturated with high-fidelity sports sims, this feels like a relic that didn't quite evolve. It’s hard to justify the time when the core loop is this repetitive. If you’re desperate for nostalgia, maybe it’ll hit the spot, but for a serious gamer, it’s a pass.
