Easy to get into, sky’s the skill limit
Sun Jan 14 2024 Alec111119At the beginning, the mechanics are quite simple. It’s interesting how you can come up with more complex synergies with specific pets or foods, and the options are quite diverse with hundreds of pets and a considerable amount of variety in food. There is an rng aspect to the rolling, some games are simply unwinnable for even the most seasoned veterans, but they don’t occur often if you know what you’re doing and can adapt. Many of the bad reviews on here references how some specific pets are overpowered(hippo mostly), and how they are having trouble. This game however is a strategy game at its core, and not relying on one single strategy to win is essentially the majority of people’s problem. Again however, some games are unwinnable no matter what, and losing several games in a row even when not playing verses games can be frustrating, so their anger is not unreasonable. If you consider yourself a lucky person, you’ll have a more easy time getting into this game then those that are the reverse.
Honest Feedback
Thu Jun 05 2025 Mike Hawkis HughI’ve been playing this game for years. I’ve shown many friends, and a lot of them have laughed at me - mainly because the UI of the game looks very child-friendly. I don’t really care about that though, I think they’re cute and it makes for some of the game’s aesthetic. I also know that this game is incredibly difficult, which is the main fun in it. I have about 80% of the animals with Level 3 wins. My one and only complaint is that with every expansion pack, the prices have gone up.. $10 for the mythical pack was one thing, since I was waiting for so long, but to ask for another $10 DLC? Nah. I’m good. I thought $5 was reasonable, and I would definitely support the devs if it was prices at such - but not another $10. If they’re trying to make up for the lack of players by asking for more, I can get that… But you lost me. I have purchased every other pack except for the newest “Danger” pack. I love the concept, and maybe if half of the proceeds were donated to endangered animals, I’d definitely pay for it since I would feel like I’m supporting both the devs and the endangered animals they included in the pack.. But not when it’s taken so many months to update, so long to come up with packs, and for this price increase. Almost $40 to unlock all the packs is nuts. Fun game otherwise. Just play the weekly and you’ll be fine.
Pay to win? Nerf the Ai.
Wed Jul 31 2024 2432456330Although super auto pets is a good game, I have yet to get a single win in the game. I have reason to believe that the game is somewhat pay to win which makes it even worse when you realize children play the game and it is built for many ages. Think about how much money you will make off of children? Nothing. I will give a second review if I actually manage to win a game. For starters I’m thinking you should nerf the other players in the arena(and if they are Artificial Intelligence, you should nerf them so they don’t become impossibly powerful at the end of the game). I play games that make it possible to win. You won’t get play time if no one can win. I apologize for the inconvenience. I personally like the game design and the gameplay. The art is perfect for children and the way the design works is perfect. The only problem is the arena mode has no way to win. If the Ai is as nerfed as it can be, giving players a buff will usually help. If you want an idea, might I suggest boss fights. At the final round of each game, have an opponent that is stronger and more likely to encourage players to use as many buffs as possible to defeat the boss.
fun, easy to get into, and adorable
Mon Feb 21 2022 Ruby (skunk lover)Do you love cute animals? Do you love fun, engaging games with cute animals? What if I told you there is no time limit, and although you are battling aginst other players online, you can put down the game at any time and come back and keep your place? If you've never heard of an auto battler before, fear not! Super auto pets is extremely approachable and easy to learn. It's both super exciting and chill at the same time. Almost everything you can buy with $ you can also buy with in game points that you earn by playing matches. The only purchase-only component is an expansion pack, but I played the free-to-play pack for months before feeling the need to get the expansion. I can not reccomend this game highly enough. Perfect for killing time in between errands or while waiting, or you can play it for hours at a time in a row- it's super adaptable. can you tell i love this game?!?!?
NOT a strategy game!
Sat Oct 29 2022 CandiedNutzThis game masquerades as a strategy game when it is actually about 20% strategy and 80% purely an RNG game of luck. There is a bit of strategy involved with how you arrange your units, I will give it that, but the rest is solely up to the algorithm RNG gods smiling upon you in giving you the units you’ve chosen to go with. More often however it will not give you what units you’re looking for. You have to play whatever units the shop chooses to throw at you and you will have a better chance with that strat rather than hoping to get the ones you really want. If you keep rolling for a certain unit you’re looking for, you most likely will not see it so play what it gives you as you have zero control over that where as a true strategy game you have a lot more control over the units you’ve chosen to play. Out of 1,022 games played I’ve one 29. That’s about a 3% win rate if you do the math. While other players do have a better win rate I’ve read from a lot of people that there’s is worth than that. Fun at times if you get good units, otherwise you will be more often just frustrated to no end wanting to smash your phone to pieces!
frustrating and luck based, addicting like gambling
Sat Nov 04 2023 bobearyGame is really addicting and fun, I could sink hours into easily. I love strategy games but I hate these strategy games that are 50% skill and 50% luck. No matter how good you play or how smart you are you’ll always be at the mercy of getting the right animals. I’ll create a solid deck that stream rolls until 6-7 wins, after I get there all the animals in the shop are unrelated forcing you to waste gold on rolls wasting turns and making it impossible for you to win because you’ll face someone who didn’t have that issue. Or you won’t get a good animals to build a team around until like turn 7-8 and by then you’re so far behind it doesn’t matter. Other times times I’ll get three-four animals within 2 turns and then go 7 turns without getting another, decide to sell and then get two of the animal I needed in the shop. Game is fun in the same way gambling is fun, the odds aren’t in your favor and don’t expect skill to be enough to win, you’ll always be at the whim of the shop and the shop won’t do you favors.
The best free-to-play game of the year, hands down.
Mon Feb 21 2022 djakskskqjdkglksslalxlsI’ve already spent a good 40, maybe 50 hours on the PC version of this game, & I can proudly say it’s taken up a majority of my time for the better. There’s something so relaxing about this game that I’ve never experienced before. The mechanics are so simple to pick up yet take awhile to master. I find myself discovering new strategies every day, and it’s addicting after a match to just keep on going. I would definitely put this in my top ten games, maybe even top five of all time. The developers are incredible at listening to their fanbase and keeping the game up to date and balanced. Even if you’re new to the realm of auto battlers, or if you’ve never played a game like this before, I would highly recommend giving it a go. Before you know it, all you’ll be thinking about is getting that level 3 sloth win.
Extremely Luck Reliant
Sat Jan 21 2023 Athenian catI definitely recommend this game unless you’re like me
I mean this game obviously relies on luck with abilities & rolls but as someone who has awful luck I can’t play this. I’ve spent more than a week in total playing & have won once. I also always goes against the good old cheesy strategy of elephant (with garlic), camel (with garlic), hippo (with melon armor). I’m not blaming this on the creator but if your luck is as awful as mine when it comes to things like these, I don’t recommend it.
Bit of stats for ya:
73 hippo teams faced on a row since he becomes available in the game (meaning turn three[?] since you can get a tier 3 there)
49 missed ant buffs (meaning the ant hit the only animal that didn’t matter if it got buffed or not. Didn’t break the streak ever & this started the first time I opened the game. I uninstalled now but I do recommend the game)
71 missed mosquito shots. (Same concept as ant, hit the only one that didn’t matter if it got hit or not)
39 missed otter buffs (this is actually the only streak that was broken thankfully. Oh the hippo one too I guess.)
Got no consistent build rolls. (I would get a turkey, a seal, a crawfish (or the guy that gives one health to a random friend when friend is sold), a hippo, & a mouse. No consistency.
Whenever I’d go for one specific build, suddenly I’d get everything for every other build so it was impossible to make effective teams who synergised.)
Good game, but it could use some things to make it more fun.
Thu Apr 14 2022 CobruaabThe game itself is pretty good, the strategies involved with the gameplay makes the game interesting for sure along with the art style. I’ve bought the 2nd pack on the app and it adds a lot more variety and new strategies to the game which is good.
Some things that could be added to give the game more flare would be to make the versus interface especially for private games have more options. It’s good that you can change the amount of lives lost, how many you start with, etc but I would add an option to remove certain animals from play to sort of shut down some pathways for some strategies and have players think of another path that may get them victory. The shop could have more variety as well, whats on there already is fine but again more styles that you can choose from would make the game more fun in my opinion.
Okay game-update
Wed Sep 13 2023 Pokemon go is lifeIt’s basically a complete gamble game without any real skill involved. You’ll understand the synergy after 10-20 games but when the game decides to retold buy/sell pets at waves 9+ you could even lose stacking up to 30 gold a turn with bad reroll rng. Great idea for a game and kills some time but really lacks skill involvement and when you get lucky you just win at round 10 and it feels too easy making you want to continue but then some games you could have a quantum computer make the best choices and yet still not get a single trophy and lose at round 9 inevitably. 6/10
The newest update completely ruined this game, “hard mode” is basically having opponents 2-3 turns ahead of you which is basically just relying on your own rng to get past it. Once you have chosen a pet unless you hit a 15% chance at turn 3-8 you will have to use what they give you which can again completely deter your run since it will recycle useless pets. Giving it a 4/10 now
