Superior Solitaire is a high-quality and very clean implementation of the world's most popular card game. It doesn't try to reinvent the wheel, but it polishes it to a mirror shine. The interface is the standout feature here—it’s uncluttered, responsive, and features large, easy-to-read cards that make it a pleasure to play on even smaller mobile screens.
The game includes several variations of Solitaire, including Klondike, Spider, and FreeCell, which provides a nice bit of variety. I particularly appreciated the 'Winning Deals' mode, which ensures that every game you play is mathematically solvable—a great feature for when you just want a relaxing win. While the market is flooded with Solitaire apps, this one stands out for its reliability and its focus on a premium user experience without the usual mobile bloat. It’s an honest, well-built classic.
Solitaire is a solved game. We’ve had it on our PCs since 1990. So when an app calls itself 'Superior,' it better bring something new to the table. This version doesn't. What it does bring is a level of polish and restraint that I appreciate. It’s quiet. It doesn't scream at you to buy coins. The cards move with a weight that feels right, and the lack of ads is worth a few points on its own.
But at the end of the day, it’s just Solitaire. It’s the 'elevator music' of gaming. I respect the clean design and the lack of nonsense, but I can't get excited about it. It’s a fine way to kill time in a doctor's waiting room, but it lacks any sort of challenge or innovation that would make it 'Superior' to the version I played on a CRT monitor thirty years ago. It’s competent, boring, and dignified.
Performance: Rock solid. Battery-friendly and loads instantly.
Buy if: You play Solitaire daily and are willing to pay to remove all the 'mobile game' junk.
Skip if: You want variety, like Spider or FreeCell, or don't want to pay for a deck of cards.

Always prioritize moving cards that uncover hidden face-down cards in the tableau. Freeing up a column should be your secondary goal, as an empty space is only useful if you have a King ready to fill it.
In Spider Solitaire, focus on building complete sequences in a single suit even if it means leaving other columns messy for a few turns. A complete sequence of 13 cards is the only way to clear space and win the game.
