I’ve seen a trend of these 'hyper-casual' job sims, and this Supermarket Mall game is a prime example of the genre at its most basic. There’s no real management depth here; you aren't balancing ledgers or optimizing supply chains. Instead, you're clicking on icons to perform tasks a child could do. The graphics look like they were pulled from a generic asset store, and the 'open world' mall is just a series of static corridors.
I’m 40, I have real errands to run—why would I spend my limited gaming time virtually scanning milk? The ads are constant, popping up every time you transition between screens. It’s a game designed to occupy your eyes while it feeds you marketing. It lacks any sense of progression that feels earned. For a simulator, it fails to simulate anything interesting.
