As someone who appreciates good design, Swatch This! is pure eye candy. It’s a very simple concept—essentially a color-sorting task—but it’s executed with such polish that it becomes incredibly addictive. There is a specific kind of satisfaction in seeing a jumbled mess of colors suddenly snap into a perfect, smooth gradient.
It’s the perfect 'transit game'—something you can play on the bus or train to relax your mind. It’s also surprisingly educational for anyone interested in digital art, as it trains your eye to see the subtle differences in CMYK and RGB values. If you liked 'I Love Hue,' you will absolutely adore this. It’s a quiet, beautiful, and polished little gem.

Version 2.3Sun Feb 01 2026
Fixed a bug on iPad where current online matches weren't showing up in the menu.
Requires iOS 18.5 or later. Compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.Swatch This is a color naming game for 2-8 players, featuring real, outrageous paint swatches.
Real-life paint colors aren’t just called yellow or pink or blue, they’re much more evocative and fun. So a yellow-gold might be “Sunny Side Up,” a bright pink “Sweet Sixteen,” or a blue “Fountain.”
In Swatch This you’ll create your own color names, as serious or silly as you want.
The other players in the match are making up names too, so at the end everyone will try to pick out the real name from the made-up ones. Guess the right name and you'll get points — fool another player and you’ll get more!
Swatch This features multiple game modes.
- Online turn-based multiplayer: play a Quick Match with a random opponent, or a private match with 1-7 friends
- Pass & Play: play on a single device by taking turns
- Pen & Paper: play on a single device by writing color names on paper, like a board game
There are no consumable in-app purchases. Play unlimited matches in all game modes for free. If you enjoy the game, please consider buying the Palette Pack to permanently unlock many more color swatches.

Each puzzle usually has 'anchor' swatches (marked with a dot) that cannot be moved. Use these as your starting points. Build out from the anchors by finding colors that are only slightly different, gradually filling in the spectrum.
The game features hundreds of levels across various difficulty sets. Early levels use simple rainbow gradients, while later 'Expert' levels might use monochromatic scales or complex multi-directional color grids.
