Love the game
Mon Dec 19 2022 Three SaI love this game. I know love is a strong word, but I’ve played this game countless times across multiple devices. I don’t remember how I even stumbled across this gem nor how long ago it was, but I’ve always remembered to download the game again just to play it one more time. The game is simple with its art and design. The hidden chests are a nice little add on to work a players brain to figure out how to get to them. There are definitely challenging aspects of the game, not to mention frustrating parts that you will keep dying at, but passing them will make it all worth while. I am proud every time I complete the game, but a small part of me is also sad that I have completed the game, because then that means that the adventure is over and I finished it. I wish this developer made more games like this, or that there were more games like this in general. It was fun and I love that it doesn’t require Wi-Fi to play. I remember playing this on the train to pass time and someone asked me what game I was playing, stating they wanted to play it since it looked fun. I was more than happy to tell them what the game was and was smiling to myself as it would be someone else’s turn to play this game and hopefully enjoy it. There have been many occasions where I’ve given up playing the game at difficult parts, but I was determined to finish the game, which helped me pull through multiple times. I love this game and thank you to the developers for making it!
More games like this please
Wed Jan 17 2024 Big Money PlayaThe games playability is unparalleled. The controls are perfect. Not too many buttons your thumbs get lost- but enough to keep it interesting. I’ve tried finding another game like this to play but they all fall wayyyy short. Too many buttons making it impossible to master the controls and so making it impossible to control the character good enough to establish precise enough movements to navigate the landscapes and attack and evade opponents. In Swordigo CAN do all those things. You can master the controls and precisely control your character to execute exactly what you want him to do. So it actually makes the game fun. In OTHER games when you can’t gain control of your character it just makes the game dumb. Why play a dumb game where controlling it good enough is impossible? There’s a gold mine for games made with these same controls. I don’t even mind the short ads I see between areas sometimes. Where is Swordigo II and III and IV AND V? I would even pay for them. Seriously!! Make them. Today.
There is a trick to the final boss- your shadow. You don’t even have to move much- stand against the wall- a little away from. Don’t jump; But swing.
Bad reviews because they couldn’t figure it out. Try more stuff.

One of the best mobile games I have seen (May need some tweaks)
Mon Mar 15 2021 AlextgeComical1This is a really great game to play if you are in to Zelda type games, but there are some things I would like changed. First of all is the ads, which come up after a few screen transitions or after a cutscene is played. I beg you to remove the ads because it affects the overall gameplay. Sometimes, I am in the zone and just rolling with the punches and an ad comes up and it ruins the zone. This is mainly why I’m giving this four of five stars instead of the whole 5 stars. Another thing is the ending. It simply gives some text saying ‘You won, the darkness has receded blah blah’ and nothing else. You could have added some more detail to the ending, like having a cutscene where the evil dissipates or seeing everyone later in time talking about the hero of old or whatnot. Even a picture of the people who inhabit the world surrounding the hero and cheering/congratulating him would be nice. The ending also seemed a bit rushed, kind of like a student writing the last paragraph of an essay trying to get it done and over with. Other than hat, it is a really great game.
Another thing that popped up when I played the game was a harder difficulty because it felt like I played it pretty fast and I was wanting a bigger challenge. Please consider my thoughts and maybe change the game a bit (at least remove the ads, because ads are the worst). Anyway, thanks for a really great game. Cheers!
Pretty good game held back by ads
Mon Dec 30 2024 Qu4ternitySwordigo has a lot of things going for it. As a combat-based metroidvania platformer on the iOS App Store, it doesn’t have a lot of competition. Yes, Dead Cells exists, but that’s not exactly free, is it? Plus, the combat is actually mostly fun and there are enough interesting battle conditions and unique enemies to keep it from getting stale. The game is also short enough to not overstay its welcome yet long enough to give multiple hours’ worth of enjoyment. The difficulty scaling also feels natural, with the only major difficulty spike being right at the final dungeon.
Now that all sounds well and good, but why only three stars? Ads. So many ads. You’ll see one every other loading screen and most game overs, and almost all of them soak up at least 15 seconds of your time. I used to play this game before it had so many ads, so seeing them now was jarring. There’s also a lingering feeling of low quality visual design, and it’s hard to ignore that most of the areas seem to be on a floating island, though that doesn’t fit anywhere in the world building. In addition, despite the quality of the combat, many of the bosses can be easily cheesed, which makes them a lot less interesting.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this game if you can stomach the ads (or can just go offline). You can grow to enjoy this game fairly quickly, as I have. Just watch out for Snowbugs. They’re TERRIFYING.
Needs a better ending
Sat Mar 28 2020 H M V CI loved the game when it first came out I played it countless times on my dads tablet because he kept deleting the game. Now that I have my own phone I was able to play it from start to finish. I loved the story and the art style. Even though the end of the game had many back to back “weak” bosses and the final two bosses I felt the ending was abrupt and a bit rushed. As soon as you kill the final boss the game hits you with two paragraphs and the game is over. I wish there was a little more to the ending like maybe a small cutscene. For example, the could have been a long conversation with the master or a cutscene of the corruption leaving the world or maybe even a cutscene with citizens of the world congratulating you for defeating corruption. Just a little more of a longer ending would make the player feel more closure and walk away from the game thinking the story was over not that the story didn’t end like I feel. Please consider this suggestion, I feel it would make the game feel more polished and complete. Other than the ending I loved the game. Great work!
Like Zelda Ocarina of Time
Sat Apr 26 2025 MenacingOtter844Wow. Best game I’ve played on my phone. It’s just the right mix for me (challenging/easy, fun, gameplay, visuals, audio). When I finished it and saw the short list of credits, I was even more impressed. 3 people: Programming, Graphics, & Music. That’s it!
I’ve played it through several times since then. Not a single bug/glitch (I thought I found one when I hit 99% on a playthrough, but there was one house I hadn’t visited). For an extra challenge, I tried to get as far as I could with the original sword and no armor. Took me a while to get to the final boss (haven’t beaten him yet). Fantastic game. I wish they made more (their other game makes me dizzy, unfortunately).
Buy the Coin Doubler if you don’t like to grind. You’ll pretty easily have the money when you need it. The Compass isn’t particularly useful, but I’m still glad I paid for it, since these guys have well earned my money for the entertainment this game has brought me!
Good but hard
Sat Jun 22 2024 John By The PondThis game is very misleading with its graphics which references old ps2 graphics. The first section is easy with some difficult mini bosses here and there. Dungeon 2 was fine although I wish the king would actually be set free. The 3rd dungeon is pretty good but it sets up for the final 2. The ice dungeon has ice, difficult platforming, and overwhelming enemy’s. The boss here is overly hard because of the ice. The final dungeon however takes things up a notch. The platforming and layout is near impossible while the enemies swarm you. The final bosses 1st phase is hard and I just ended up cheesing and re- healthing. The second is also very hard with the only strat I could find is running across the battle field jumping and turning around until I got my health back with one of the relics. Most reviews call it a shameless rip off of Zelda but take it from someone that’s true 100% the game (max wallet too) and attempted to see how far you can take the unbeatable pot, it’s a rip off. But it’s not shameless they do a good job making a stereotypical story from the early 2000s. I honestly really like this game.
I want more!
Sat Jul 25 2020 afray3424This game is amazing. I first played it on my fathers tablet, but after enjoying it so much I got it on my phone years later. I have played they this game several different times and collected all the chests. It is easily my favorite mobile game. I can spend a long time sitting down and playing this game. I only wish that there was more. Like a Swordigo 2 or something.
Also, on a side note, I realized it’s compatible with my PS4 controller. I just connect it using Bluetooth and voila, I can play my favorite mobile game with my controller.
One minor glitch I ran into was that one my most recent save, it won’t track the progress of me getting the last chest. It is supposed to say I’ve completed 100% of it, but it won’t go up from 99%. I’ve only experienced this glitch once though, and it doesn’t really bother me. In my previous saves, I haven’t ran into any other kind of issues.
Overall it’s a 10/10 game. Definitely wholesome, and easily the best mobile game I’ve ever played. Thanks Touch Foo.
Edit: Also to all those people who say this game is too hard. I need to let you know it’s really not. It simply comes down to fighting and dodging. And if you’re current health doesn’t seem to cut it, its easy to go back and get the chests or fight off enemies for XP so you can level up. All those petty haters need to chill.
A down to earth adventure
Sun May 19 2024 Glitterprince100So I originally played this game because I wasn’t able to finish it when I was younger and it turned out to be A satisfying experience. The story was very simple. Boys master dies but then becomes a ghost, guides him and tells him to get rid of evil ,gathers all shards and slays the evil having a happy ending. But I feel like it’s gameplay makes up for it. Finding new gear looking for treasure chests slaying mini bosses and leveling up is nice. For the combat I would say it’s alright it doesn’t have a parry or dodge system which could make fighting sword wielding enemies awkward to fight. You either spam magic balls or you try to sprint away from attacks but might end up trading damage. But I guess my favorite thing about this game might be just it’s aesthetic. I like the textures on the trees the smiling moon and it’s gradient skies and how neon the grass is. It is a nice game to distract your self with so I will give it 3 stars. For some others it could have a nostalgia factor and I feel like the developers may have enjoyed making this game so yeah that’s it.

I found it a few years ago and loved it so much but forgot about it after a few years. I am so happy that it is still here and I was so surprised that everything was free because this is an amazing game. I am so thankful for this game because it is the only game that I can play for hours and not het tired of. I wish the graphics were a little better and the storyline wasn’t as repetitive but honestly I could care less about that stuff. This game is already an absolute gem and beyond perfect the way it is now. Thank you so much for making this game developers, lots of love to you guys. I am one of the lucky people who were able to find this hidden gem. If anyone by any chance is reading this review, please install this game!!!! You will not regret it.
