As a 40-year-old gamer, I've always had a soft spot for sandbox games that don't take themselves too seriously. TABS (Totally Accurate Battle Simulator) is the king of goofy physics comedy, letting you pit medieval knights against modern special forces or ancient armies in completely absurd slapstick melees. Seeing this chaos shrunk down to a pocket edition for iOS is an impressive technical feat on paper.
On the gameplay front, it’s just as fun to set up ridiculous army configurations and watch the chaotic physics engine do its work. However, reality hits hard when you scale up the battles. Mobile hardware simply struggles to keep up with dozens of active ragdoll physics calculations at once, leading to noticeable frame drops, stuttering, and phone heating issues during massive clashes. It’s a great novelty to show off to friends, but the technical compromises dock its score down to a realistic mid-tier.
