Takeem Down is a straightforward, action-packed shooter that focuses on the 'hitman' fantasy. The gameplay is split into quick missions where you have to clear a room of enemies using various weapons and environmental hazards. It’s very much a 'pick up and play' title—the levels are short enough to finish while waiting for coffee, but they offer enough variety to keep you coming back.
The game relies heavily on its ragdoll physics and slow-motion 'kill cams,' which provide a satisfying punch to the action. It doesn't take itself too seriously, which is a plus. While the ad frequency can be a bit high between levels, the core shooting mechanics are polished and the sense of progression through weapon unlocks is well-handled. If you want a low-stress shooter where you can feel like an action hero, this fits the bill.
I’ve played Virtua Cop, Time Crisis, and a dozen other rail shooters that had more personality in a single level than Take 'em Down has in its entire campaign. This is a very 'safe' mobile shooter. You stand in one spot, you drag your thumb to aim, you tap to shoot. It’s functional, but it’s incredibly boring. The enemy AI has the awareness of a loaf of bread; they stand in the open waiting to be shot.
The upgrade system is the typical mobile treadmill—grind for hours or pay to make your gun do more damage so you can shoot the next 'bullet sponge' enemy. For a 40-year-old who grew up with shooters that actually challenged your reflexes and tactical thinking, this feels like an interactive movie where you just click on the bad guys. It’s not terrible, but it’s completely forgettable.
Performance: Runs smoothly; few bugs encountered during testing.
Buy if: You want a low-effort shooter to kill a few minutes on the bus.

Don't just aim for the enemies. Look for explosive barrels or heavy objects hanging from cranes. One well-placed shot can take out an entire group of guards at once.
The game rewards headshots and multi-kills with extra currency. Take your time to line up shots during the brief slow-motion windows to maximize your score and efficiency.
Yes, most of the single-player campaign is available to play without an active internet connection.
