The Inner World 2 (The Last Wind Monk) is an exceptional point-and-click adventure that proves the genre is alive and well. It picks up the whimsical, hand-drawn charm of the first game and elevates it with even more clever puzzles and a deeply emotional story about Asposia. The humor is sharp and often self-aware, making it a joy for adults and older kids alike.
What truly shines is the triple-character mechanic. Swapping between Robert, Laura, and Peck (the pigeon) leads to some of the most creative puzzle solutions I've seen in years. The hint system is also worth praising—it’s tiered, giving you a nudge before revealing the full solution, which keeps the game from feeling frustrating. It’s a beautiful, hilarious, and sometimes heartbreaking journey through a world made of air.
I grew up on LucasArts adventures, so I have a soft spot for games like The Inner World 2. It hits all the right notes: quirky characters, a world that feels lived-in (and slightly absurd), and puzzles that actually require you to use your brain. The hand-drawn art is fantastic and gives the game a timeless quality that you just don't get with 3D models.
While the humor is generally great, some of the puzzles fall into that classic adventure game trap of 'moon logic'—where the solution is so obscure you'll likely need a guide. It also doesn't revolutionize the formula, but it doesn't really need to. It’s a solid, well-crafted experience for anyone who misses the golden age of adventure gaming. It’s a bit conservative in its design, but I find that comforting in a sea of modern 'walking sims'.
Performance: Polished and bug-free; look for the PC version if you prefer mouse controls.
Buy if: You love classic point-and-click adventures and great storytelling.
Skip if: You prefer fast-paced action or get frustrated by obscure puzzles.

The Inner World - The Last Wind Monk
Solve mind-bending puzzles in a world full of mystery and save the family of the flute-noses! Their dynasty has been watching over Asposia for centuries on end. In secret, they fill the roly-poly world with light and life. But when their existence is discovered, they become hunted.
Emil, a trader for odds and ends, made all the Asposians believe that the dynasty is in cahoots with dark forces. The only one who can stop the evil Emil is the heir to the throne: Robert. He has been petrified for three years, though.
With a huge dose of enthusiasm, but little to no idea what he’s actually doing, he embarks on an adventure to find the legendary last wind monk. Of course, he has some great company: Peck, as loyal as he is flightless, and Laura, a rebel who certainly does fly, but only off the handle - and who Robert loves, with a capital L.
Everything changes, when they meet the mysterious Mama Dola, who seems to know more about Robert’s destiny than Robert would like.
