Seems cool, but controls are abysmal
Mon Jan 15 2024 Sephz123I love pixel art indie games, and I also love point and click style adventure games. Both remind me of my childhood in the early 90s playing Lucasarts games my dad brought home on cd Roms.
This game seems like it could be fantastic, but the controls are so frustrating it’s very hard to get into and enjoy.
1. “2 finger click” is almost impossible. If you have manly hands (like myself) 2 fingers span across ¼ of the width of the screen….and now the game has no idea where you’re trying to click
2. When you click the hotspot button, your character goes running towards the left side of the screen because it also thinks you’re clicking to walk to that point
Generally it just needs thought through better. I don’t know this for fact, but it seems like it is probably a PC game that was ported to mobile and wasn’t thought through very well…the round pegs were just crammed into square holes and the dev called it a day.
Tweak the controls and it’ll probably be great
Can’t believe the reviews
Fri Apr 05 2024 Birdy24evaI loved it, I had no problems with controls or finding objects on my IPhone 14! I had a great story with great voice acting. I’ve died all the different ways. I’ve reached multiple different endings. It’s not an easy game but it’s not so hard that you don’t even wanna play. everything makes sense that I have figured out so far. I think this game is a lot better than people are giving it credit for. Anyway I loved it, still only finished about half the endings, because some of the endings take repeating over and over I took a little break from it because of course repetitive things can get boring but sometimes it’s worth it to find out the ending like in “12 minutes”.! Hope we get more of these
Great production, top voice acting, interface glitch
Sat Jan 13 2024 TrombranThe visuals, animations, and voice acting are great! But the interface for touch screen has a few problems:
1) the cursor from the PC point and click version is on the screen at all times and moves to wherever I tap on screen. It’s very distracting and unnecessary. I would removed the cursor entirely.
2) tapping to move works great, but it’s also registering outside the screen in the letterbox areas (on the top and bottom of the screen). This is a problem, as anytime I hold the “highlight interactive elements” button, I start walking in that direction, away from the elements I want to see. I think clicking on the top and bottom black bars should NOT make you move.
3) tapping with two fingers works… but the surface area of two fingers is pretty big and it’s hard to click accurately, especially in the corners of the screen. A “use” button at the bottom of the screen could fix this. Or perhaps a “tap and hold” command.
Great concept but very random
Tue Feb 27 2024 parrotltLove the concept and dialogues! However many of the endings are not intuitive to find, so I ended up looking up solutions from the internet which gets boring after a few endings.
Pretty disappointed
Wed Jan 17 2024 Big408DaveThis game looked so unique and I was intrigued by its description so I bought it. I only tried 2 “runs” and I spent a couple of hours having to touch everything on the screen twice to inspect every object in the environment to find nothing at all . Then you spend hours of reading the same dialogue over and over , touch screen . Ask 30 people if they heard the explosion . Touch the screen and repeat . I know it will get “better” the more runs I do and discover small changes but Jesus what a tedious clunky waste of $5 that was. The game has potential and gets 2 stars for originality but Boring with a capital B .
The controls are difficult to work
Thu Jan 18 2024 audrey831I’ve been stuck in the tutorial because it’s nearly impossible to use two fingers to accurately tap on an object. I was excited to play the game too. I don’t see why they didn’t just do the usual one click to examine, two clicks to examine. It’s a mistake making users have to use two fingers
Please improve controls and UI.
Fri Mar 29 2024 QuanshaCWish the controls were better on mobile. I played the demo on PC and its a really fun game.
Absolutely terrible…
Thu Mar 21 2024 VerstedtNever played on PC, saw it in the store, thought I’d try it out…
How do you make a Point and Click feel SO terrible on mobile? Doesn’t seem too hard to make a Point and *Tap game, but they failed miserably.
The 3 points another review made are absolutely right. There’s a “Highlight” button in the bottom left. You have to hold it. Holding it makes you run Left. So you have to hold Right so you stand still. Easy fix, poorly thought out.
I didn’t even know there was a “Right Click” so I wandered around for 2 deaths and an hour and a half playtime w/ nothing new presenting itself before I looked up a walkthrough.
The guy pulls a taser out of a trash can I’ve searched 6 times. A comment asked the question for me. He asks “did you right click?”
So I looked at mobiles controls and see there’s a Two Finger Tap.
I went to the trash can in my game and Two Finger Double-Tapped on the trash can probably 8 times before it actually registered because the cursor dances back and forth between your two fingers opposite sides of the item over and over.
It’s SO unintuitive. I want to make it ABSOLUTELY clear that unless you’re playing on an iPad maybe, you have to FIGHT w/ the controls to play the game.
It’s not something you’ll be able to “learn” or get proficient or even get USED to after some time. It simply could not be a worse implementation of Point and Click on mobile.
I’m being redundant in this review because I want to make it evident that you should steer clear until the Devs completely revamp the control scheme.
Ditch the cursor. Ditch the Two Finger Double Tap. Don’t make the “Highlight” button “transparent” and still move you.
