TinyTap is less of a game and more of a library. The real value isn't just in the 250,000 games they brag about—half of which are admittedly a bit amateur—but in the ability to create your own. If you're a teacher or a parent who wants to make a custom lesson for a kid, the toolset here is remarkably intuitive. You take a photo, draw a circle around an object, record your voice, and suddenly you have a game. That’s clever.
As a consumer, the subscription model is a tough pill to swallow. It’s expensive, and because much of the content is user-generated, the quality varies wildly from 'professional' to 'unplayable.' You have to spend time curating the experience for your kid. But if you're looking for an alternative to the mindless YouTube loop, this is one of the most productive uses of an iPad I’ve seen. It’s a tool for creators disguised as a playground for kids.
