I've seen plenty of 'educational' software in my forty years, and Toy Wallet falls into the oldest trap in the book: it forgets that for a child to learn from a digital interface, there actually needs to be a reason to stay. Calling this a 'game' is a massive stretch; it's a glorified ledger with a coat of primary colors. As Dinsun, I find the lack of mechanical depth insulting to the intelligence of the target demographic. You can't just give a kid a digital UI and expect them to care about 'virtual savings' without some form of feedback loop or actual consequence.

Technically, it functions—I'll give it that. The UI is clean, and it's responsive on an iPad, but there is zero soul here. No animations to celebrate a goal, no interactive elements that make the 'money' feel tangible. It feels like a project designed by an accountant who once saw a cartoon. In an era where kids are playing complex builders and strategy games, this bare-bones entry is likely to be opened once and forgotten by dinner time. It’s too conservative even for my tastes.
