Dinsun Review
Tunnel Rush is the kind of game that belongs in an arcade from 1995, but without the cabinet. It’s an exercise in pure reflex. There is no story, no character development, and really no variation. You go fast, you dodge things, and eventually, you die. I can appreciate the simplicity—it’s honest about what it is. The neon visuals are sharp and do a good job of conveying speed without becoming too much of a mess, though the flashing colors might be a bit much for longer sessions.
However, it wears out its welcome quickly. Once you’ve seen the first few minutes, you’ve seen everything the game has to offer. It becomes a matter of muscle memory and nothing more. It’s functional, but it feels like a tech demo for a better game. For a 40-year-old gamer who grew up on meaningful challenges, this feels a bit like eating a bowl of plain sugar—a quick rush, then nothing. It’s fine for five minutes, but I can’t see anyone playing this for five hours.
