Great game but could use more content
Fri Apr 04 2025 Mini frostThe game is great overall hard enough that’s it’s a challenge not to easy I just have a question will there be more clans added into this in the future just curious but overall love the game art style I love it and the game mechanics are great overall I was able to finally beat it once 😅 but it’s so fun (edit: the game is still fun but there’s so much more that could be added for example there are mods to add more characters, clans, enemies and more I believe you guys could use that as inspiration for more content I understand it will take a while for more content to be added you have to do a lot of testing and more but I just hope you do this game is great honestly
Amazing Game and Almost Perfect Mobile Port
Wed Sep 04 2024 Qwest69First of all, this game is incredible. I was turned off by the mixed reviews at first but eventually decided to play it and it has become one of my favorite games of all time. It is so deep and tactical and it has a completely unique mechanic that makes it stand out from any other deckbuilder I’ve played (and I have played a lot of them.)
The only problem with the mobile port is that when you get a lot of cards in hand you can’t see them and they are very difficult to select. In PC you can mouse over cards to see them and select them without risk of accidentally playing them but on the mobile port you run the risk of accidentally playing a card that you were just trying to identify. It is honestly a bit of a substantial problem because each card play in this game constitutes a full turn and you really have to be deliberate about your plays.
Overall I’m willing to deal with it and just be very careful while I have a lot of cards in hand because I love the game and think it’s a natural consequence of not having a mouse in a game where there is no limit to the amount of cards you can hold in hand. It would be nice if there was a confirmation for when you play cards though so you didn’t risk throwing a run over a fat finger misplay.
Incredible deck builder with lots of replay ability.
Sun Apr 21 2024 MacDonaldsINCWhat I love about this game is the replay value. Not only are leader cards procedurally generated, there is around 100 cards in total that you can add to your deck and each card can be modified by up to three different charms which enables you to create a vast amount of customization, and ensures that no two play through are the same. Additionally each time you defeat the game, the final boss changes in a way that requires you to adapt your play style. There are also storm bells which increase the challenge level of the play through. An additional aspect that encourages replays is unlocking new items through completing quests.
It is hard not to compare this game to Slay the Spire, so I will say how I feel they are different. StS punishes risk taking behavior because you need to save your health for the final boss, in Wild Frost as long as your leader survives till the end of the battle you regain all your health for the next fight. WF is also far more fast paced, a play through can take 20 minutes where I have spent an hour+ on StS only to lose on the last boss. StS has a lot more random events than WF. Lastly I feel that WF enables greater deck synergies to be created and includes more gimmicks and game mechanics than StS.
one of my favorite games!
Fri Jan 24 2025 c.garbmy roommate found wildfrost on xbox gamepass around a month ago. he showed it to me thinking i’d like it, i downloaded it, fell in love with it, and easily became addicted. i played it for hours every night, until i finally convinced him to play it with me. he too became addicted to the game, and we now consistently play together everyday. let me put it into perspective for you on how much we LOVE wildfrost - we downloaded it on gamepass, payed $20 each for it on steam, then got it on both our phones as well. this game is 100% worth your time and money. it may be a bit grindy and frustrating at first when you’re new to it, but after putting some time and effort into it, you’ll get the gist quickly and definitely enjoy the experience. and hey, even if you’re not sure, wildfrost being on iphone and only being $6 is a steal… give it a try and i think you’ll like it!
Amazing game! Best on the app store.
Sun Dec 15 2024 somethingelse ytI’ve played through this game minimum 10 times in the past month or so, it’s the most interesting and entertaining game i’ve seen on a phone with a beautiful art style and so many combinations of decks you can get. The game plays very similar to something like Enter the gungeon or blinding of Isaac if they were mixed with a slightly simpler magic the gathering. My favorite system is the blue fire which is an effect that will blow an enemy up once it reaches their hp. Developers, you did amazing jobs and i really hope this game finds success for it really does deserve it. Also the people complaining about this game with a 1 star review are 99% just people who the game didn’t work for because their phones are either full or old, i had no issues and i have a iphone 13. Once this game DOES work it’s amazing.
One of the best
Tue Jun 04 2024 DooglekAs far as tactical deck building rouguelikes, this one is up there with the goats like Monster Train, and personally I actually like it it better than slay the spire. There’s so much polish, and while it is challenging, I think those that are particularly struggling are bringing old habits from other similar games… after I put in about 40 hours, I started to pick up the nuances of this games strategy, and personally I think the difficulty is super balanced and fair. It may seem a bit simplistic on the surface but trust me, there are some absolutely wild, game breaking synergies that can make you unstoppable on a run. I keep finding new ones too. Super rewarding and addicting game, thank you to the developers for this gem <3
Love the Game but UI isn’t the best for Mobile
Tue Apr 23 2024 CiVeCalotteI absolutely love Wildfrost, great roguelike and endlessly entertaining! I played it on my partner’s PC and was really happy to see that it’s come to mobile so I downloaded it. Still has all the great parts of the game but something that bugs me a lot is that the placement of your cards in-game means that while dragging cards to the board, sometimes it pulls up the drag-up menu for my phone (Apple in my case) and my card lands in a random spot. Has been a thorn in my side, just lost a really good run to the menu dragging instead of the card and it ultimately cost me the run I was about to win.
Wonderful Game !
Thu Apr 11 2024 Cardo218This port has managed to amaze me by being a 1:1 port of the PC version.
I write this after beating my 2nd run and losing my first run (after 90 hrs on PC this game still finds ways to best me, don’t get overly confident!). Besides being a bit laggy in the transitions, probably due to my phone being a bit older (iPhone13), the game runs flawlessly so far. The soundtrack is stellar and the UI is very well adapted to fit on mobile. The graphics look amazing and the game doesn’t eat up my battery, I played close to 2 hours and dropped about 25% (I was expecting a 40-50% drop).
I’ve been eagerly awaiting this game on mobile as most other mobile games don’t have the replay-ability as this one without feeling overly repetitive or cookie clicker. Getting to play for free and then having to pay $7 to unlock the full game felt like a fair price, for reference the base game on PC is $20.
Thank you to the devs for listening to the fans and porting such an awesome game!
5 Naked Gnomes outta 5 (5/5)
I’m coming up on 40 hours played on this game quickly
Mon Jun 23 2025 _EmbrrsI’ve played this game both on PC and IOS now and I think it’s such a hidden gem. The gameplay loop is simple but addicting and the randomness of charms, treasures and companions adds just enough variety to make every character and run feel different. I only wish there was more content! Maybe an endless run mode or some dlc with new characters and enemies! I only paid $5 for this game and that was a steal in my eyes so i’d definitely be down for some additional content for this title.
Very hard to see
Sun Jun 23 2024 ArafelTegI want to love this game as much as my husband does. But he has better eyesight than I do. The font is cute and a little whimsical which makes it a little bit harder to read. But then the font is in a mid tone brown on a tan background making it a little harder to see. Bit then it’s also just very very tiny font. I was hoping that I could adjust the font size or color in setting, sadly no.
Other card games will let you zoom into the card, something like that might be helpful here.
