Look, I've seen plenty of virtual pets since the Tamagotchi craze of the 90s, and Wisp World is clearly trying to pivot into the 'cozy' trend. It’s aesthetically pleasing, sure—the atmospheric lighting and the creature design are fine. But as a gamer who expects a bit of meat on the bones, there’s just nothing to do here. You click a few buttons to keep the thing happy and then you just... stare at it.
It’s less of a game and more of a screensaver you have to occasionally apologize to. If you’re forty and looking for a hobby, this isn't it. It’s a distraction for people who want their phone to look 'aesthetic' while they do something else. The lack of meaningful progression or actual stakes makes the whole 'care' aspect feel hollow. It's well-made for what it is, but what it is isn't much.
