Instead of being a single game, it’s a massive collection of over 100 different word-based challenges. It’s like having a whole shelf of puzzle books in your pocket. From standard Word Searches and Crosswords to more educational Spelling Tests and Grammar Quizzes, it covers every possible way you can play with the English language.

What I find most impressive is the 'Relax' mode, which removes timers and lives, making it perfect for casual play. Conversely, the global leaderboards add a competitive edge for those who want to prove their vocabulary is top-tier. The app is also incredibly lean—it works perfectly offline and doesn't bother you with ads or in-app purchases if you have the PRO version. It even includes multilingual support for several games, which is a nice touch for language learners. If you love words, this is basically the only app you'll ever need.

Word 101 is the 'white bread' of the gaming world. It’s perfectly edible, but it’s completely flavorless. You swipe between letters, you find words, you move to the next level. It works, the dictionary is fairly accurate (a rarity in this genre), and the UI doesn't give me a headache.

But why play this over Wordscapes or any other major title? It adds nothing. No interesting mechanics, no unique art style, no hook. It’s just another piece of software built to harvest ad revenue from people who like crosswords. For a 40-year-old gamer, I need a reason to stay engaged. This doesn't give me one. It’s mediocre in the most literal sense of the word.
