Worldseekers is the first game since Pokémon GO to actually make me want to go for a walk. By combining the strategic depth of a Slay the Spire-style deckbuilder with GPS mechanics, it creates something truly unique. The world map is beautifully stylized, and finding 'Mana Wells' at local landmarks feels rewarding rather than a chore.
The card combat is what really shines. It’s not just a simple 'tap to win'; you have to build a deck with real synergy. The fact that your real-world environment affects the game (e.g., finding Water-type cards near a lake) adds a layer of immersion that is often missing from AR games. The community aspect is also starting to bloom, with players competing for 'Citadels.' It’s a fitness app disguised as a hardcore RPG, and it’s brilliant.
I don't usually like games that make me leave my chair, but I appreciate the attempt to do something different with Worldseekers. Combining a deck-builder with GPS movement is a bold move. It’s certainly more engaging than just throwing balls at monsters.
The problem is that the deck-building is very rudimentary, and the GPS part is a battery-killing nightmare. I also live in an area where 'exploration' involves walking past a lot of industrial parks, which doesn't really sell the 'fantasy realm' vibe. As a gamer who values tight mechanics, I find this game a bit too spread out—pun intended. It’s a cool experiment, but I’d rather play a proper card game at home and go for a walk without my phone screen on.
Performance: Very high battery drain; requires constant GPS and data.

Worldseekers blends the strategy of deckbuilding with the exploration of the real world. As you move in real life, your character moves on the game map. Discover 'Mana Wells' at local landmarks, collect rare cards by defeating monsters in your park, and compete in 'Citadel' battles for territory. Your surroundings are your greatest weapon.
Innovative GPS mechanics
Deep card synergy strategy
Real-world exploration rewards
Competitive territory control
Start the app and start walking! Different types of terrain in real life (parks, water, streets) yield different card types. When a monster appears on your screen, tap it to enter a turn-based card battle.
Combat is a classic deckbuilder experience. Use your energy to play attack, defense, and utility cards. The twist? Certain locations in the real world provide 'Field Bonuses' that can strengthen specific card types during a fight.
While exploration is a key part of the game, there are 'Portal' items that allow you to reach nearby encounters without needing to be exactly on top of them.
