Calling this a 'game' is a bit of a stretch. It’s a box of prompts on your phone. At my age, I’ve had enough awkward dinner parties to know that a digital icebreaker is either a lifesaver or a sign that the evening is already doomed. Fondly is well-designed—the UI is clean and the questions avoid being too cringeworthy—but it lacks any internal mechanics. There are no points, no winners, no losers.

It’s a utility. It does what it says on the tin. If you're looking for an 'experience,' you won't find it here; you have to bring that yourself. It’s better than sitting in silence, but I’d rather play a real game with rules and stakes. This is just a tool for people who have forgotten how to talk to each other without a screen.
