Better Off
Sat May 11 2024 irllydontknowwhattoput(EDIT: The day after I posted this, the testflight link for osu!lazer was reset. If your a supporter you can enter the beta for it. If not, sorry. The link for non supporters hasn’t been reset yet)
I mean, theres no harm in trying. All songs are free right now so you aren’t missing out. The songs are actually pretty good, but the timings just feel off. Let me tell you, this takes lots of practice. The timing is almost TOO perfect. Your going to be getting “100” score a lot until you master the timings. I mean, props on getting the timing just right. Playing casually isn’t very fun as some songs feel too easy, or extremely difficult. The reason it’s so low is well…the game is old and isn’t getting any new updates, and I get why. Compared to other mobile rhythm games, this just doesn’t have much to offer besides the fact it’s completely free. As said, you’re better off playing actual osu! on desktop. If you really want to play touch screen, play it on a touchscreen laptop, or better yet, try to gain access to osu!lazer mobile, or just wait for it’s release. Lazer is in a way better spot than this ever was.
Brilliance taken to a phone
Mon Jun 06 2022 ColdlordX, Yeposu! is a game about clicking circles. What’s so brilliant about that? How you do it. Clicking the circles the beat of songs requires aim, speed, and calmness. This is why osu!stream is also brilliant, maybe even more brilliant than osu! itself.
osu!stream excludes every game mode from osu! but makes up for it by adding the stream gamemode. Stream is like the standard osu! gamemode, but songs either get harder or easier depending on how you are doing. Doing bad? Take less circles. Doing good? Take more circles! Think you are the best? Try expert mode.
Many benefits come from playing on a touch screen, including being able to click 2 circles at once, and just overall easier gameplay than the original osu! where you have to click with a mouse, needing to aim like an fps game. Although this game is discontinued, peppy (the creator) has been working on a new client for osu! planning to be released to all available platforms, including mobile, so soon, mobile players will be able to use all the benefits pc players get, like the original four game modes, standard, taiko, catch, and mania! So that is a very long explanation on why you should get this and get the new client as soon as it comes out. Ok bye
A Few Gripes
Thu Feb 27 2020 Dragonmaster77bI did enjoy the gameplay, but there are a few issues I’ve had which prevent me from rating this higher. First, the song selection is too small. Easy fix, but there are few songs I actually want to play. Second, timing windows seem too small. I feel like I get so many 100s just for being milliseconds off time, and it’s really frustrating (might just be a git gud issue). Also, the pause button will absolutely kill you. Pressing continue instantly starts the song again, with no warning or anything. If you have to pause, don’t even bother pressing continue, just reset, because right now there’s no point.
Overall, gameplay is fine and this looks like it has great potential, just isn’t there yet.
In current state one of the best rhythm games on iPhone
Thu Dec 17 2020 GeffernHave been having a lot of fun playing, but firstly I'd like to say that coming into this I expected something like osu! standard mode; but don't be fooled, this is a new game mode of its own. Though simmilar to osu!standard, the game mechanics make use of a different sort of hand eye coordination and the touchscreen. It also priorities accuracy over combo, which while strange at first, adds to the replayability of songs; which helps with the issue of limited content. With all maps having been provided for free in the last update this game is now a contender for one of the best rhythm games on iPhone. I wish leaderboards weren't currently frozen; but regardless I'm sure this took a lot of work, and in my eyes is a successful project. Good luck going forward with lazer. Hope to play it soon!
I dislike
Wed Feb 01 2023 osumaster10000No osu, not delectable, doesn’t meet my requirements among all standards. This game is not perfect, nor is it even decent. The minor song selection is not even close to adequate in my book. My gameplay was slow, confusing, and unresponsive. EVERYTIME I hit the circles, they would either not hit properly, or I would actually hit it. However, this game takes no skill whatsoever. I would know myself, as I am a high ranking player on the actual game. I, however, was going to give this version of the original game an attempt, as I was horribly bored and could not log into the original. As expected, I was severely disappointed. This game does not deserve the many 5 star reviews it had received, and is very inaccurate compared to many other osu knockoffs. I would seriously love a complete version of this, including many songs, however due to the lag within the circles no matter how high the Wi-Fi connection may be. This is an easy fix and was a severe mistake by the creators.
osu but on an iPad
Tue Jun 01 2021 EBB (gamer)As someone who doesn’t really have a computer, this is pretty good! Some issues tho: there’s a rlly small timing window on expert mode. It’s really hard to get an A or above on expert. Like, stupid hard. I just got an A on expert for the very first time and I’ve been playing this game for over 3 years. The maps are also sorta weird. It would also be pretty cool if the maps went more into depth with the two finger mechanic; the most the maps do with them are doubles and not much else (excluding March Handyman). The difficulty rating is also not that accurate. March Handyman is just as hard as Nekomimi Switch or Liquid Future. Other than those reasons, good game. (PS. Make it more beginner friendly. Apparently the tutorial’s too strict.)
It’s good and an awesome! iOS version is a good idea! But it needs more songs
Sun Aug 15 2021 Lucas AspreaMy only problem, is that It needs more songs, or a way to be like the original Osu!, What I seen, is that is not like osu! Originally at all, I think it does not have the modes like the drums or piano, but if it does, I am sorry. At least have more songs I don’t like the app, and don’t download just because this reason, bc the original osu! PC versión originally had more songs, and more features, like adding your own song, or beatmap to the game
Loved This Game
Thu Oct 20 2022 bighabib8313I’ve never really had a computer to play games on, so I’ve been playing this version of Osu on and off for maybe 6 years now. I used to love it so much, but I’ve opened it now and seen that all the songs are gone except for two of them. I’m writing this review hoping I can figure out what happened. Did the servers get shut down? Or were there legal issues? I can accept the fact that the songs are gone, I’m just curious about why.
Awful rng gameplay
Fri Apr 03 2020 12345678910987654321countdownThe timing is way to strict and inaccurate, and the song collection is way too small. Cytus and Cytus ii is a way better choice, much bigger and better song selection and much more reasonable timing even for million master. I’ve gotten million master on all of the chaos level 14 and 15 songs on Cytus ii so I know it’s not my skill. Even hitting the notes in this game, if it isn’t perfect to the impossible millisecond (in a rigged kind of way), you’ll lose life, and when you get knocked down a stream there is no way to move to a higher stream despite what it’ll tell you, instead the stream progress line will remain at the end and never bump you up. Do not download this awful infuriating game.
Thank you Osu!
Thu Jul 02 2020 SwgboimcgeeThis game has kept me entertained for years, since middle school actually. I’m in my sophomore year in college now. This game has been so much fun from the beginning to the end. Its a really well made game, while with few options for songs, now with all of the paid content being free, it’s a whole new world! Thank you developers! This review is very sentimental, but it’s a genuinely good game, and has a special place in my heart. It’s one of the first mobile games that seemed like the creators actually cared.
