Frontier War feels like a love letter to the golden age of Flash tower defense games, but with a modern polish that makes it pop on a high-res screen. The balance between tower placement and hero micromanagement is perfect; I never felt like I was just sitting back watching the game play itself.

The difficulty curve is steep—expect to replay some of the later levels in the Frozen Tundra—but it’s the kind of challenge that makes you rethink your entire strategy rather than just reaching for your wallet. It’s easily one of the most rewarding TD titles I’ve played this year.

This is a rare gem. It’s not trying to sell you anything—it just wants you to enjoy the mountain.
