NBA 2K25 Arcade Edition is a staggering achievement for mobile sports gaming. While previous entries felt like 'lite' versions, this year’s installment pushes the hardware to its limits. The player models and animations are fluid, and the addition of the 'Greatest' mode gives long-time fans a great way to revisit history.

The touch controls are functional, but playing with a DualSense or Xbox controller is where the game truly shines. It’s essentially a portable version of the console game without the aggressive microtransactions, making it one of the best values on the App Store. My only gripe is the occasional UI glitch in MyCAREER, but the gameplay is so solid you hardly notice.

Dinsun here. It’s hard to believe this is running on a phone. The graphics are nearly at console quality from a few years ago, and the gameplay is remarkably deep. MyCareer is still the star of the show, and being able to play it without being constantly nagged to buy 'Virtual Currency' is a breath of fresh air.

It’s a massive download, and it’ll turn your phone into a space heater, but for basketball fans, there is no substitute. The touch controls are 'okay,' but you really need a controller to play this properly. It’s a full-featured 2K game in your pocket, and that’s a hell of a value for a subscription service. It’s not perfect—the AI can be boneheaded—but it’s as close as you’ll get to the real thing on mobile.
