This is a good game but add one more thing
Mon Nov 25 2019 Domfox8First of all, I love punch planet. The design is well executed and the button configuration feels amazing. A couple things I do wish could be added is a color swap for the characters as I see when you play a character versus the same person, they have different colors. That would be appreciated a lot.
Also, may you please add an online mode where you can fight other people around the world. Apple Arcade allows online play for another game, Hot Lava. This way, people who play the game won’t feel bored after finishing the survival and arcade mode. As well as learning new combos.
Thank you.
Incomplete
Wed Sep 25 2019 rickjamesiaThe game claims to be multiplayer but has no online play and no obvious way to play with two players on one device. Attempting to select versus mode leaves me selecting both characters and the second character just stands still after the match starts. There are several typos in the Move List including incorrect inputs (dp input move listed as qcf/hadouken input). Outside of that, it seems to be a competent fighter with a very small cast that plays nearly identically to a Street Fighter game. It works great with a controller. Unfortunately, I came for a multiplayer fighting game and I will review it as such.
Good Idea bad execution
Wed Oct 23 2019 Hood_KingFor starters rather than having there be multiple buttons corresponding to light, medium, and heavy attacks they should all be one button Eg. If you press the Punch button 3 times you’ll escalate through the tree attack types like in “shadow fight” another fighting game available on the App Store. Second of all there’s no tutorial for the combos or even just a prompt to check the combos, it just teaches you how to move, attack ,and block and sends you on your merry way. Which leads me to my next point. There’s no way to block without either walking backwards, jumping backwards ,or crouching. I hope these problems are fixed soon because the game has a lot of potential but as soon as it gets up it falls flat on its face.
I was really looking forward to a cool fighter with Arcade but this isn’t it.
Tue Nov 05 2019 OmegawdYouKilledKennyI’m really not sure what’s happening in this game. You have six characters to choose from and I really like the design of all of them, they’re simple but cool. Every thing about this game looks nice. The controls aren’t awful but there’s way too many buttons for a mobile fighter imo. I’ve played for about an hour before giving up on it. I did well in most of my matches but just felt like I was tapping random buttons like crazy and my winning was just pure luck. I studied the move list for like 5 minutes and never figured out how to do any of the combos. Probably just sticking with the mortal kombat mobile game.
Nerf the AI
Tue Nov 24 2020 ParadoxInABoxThe AI is broken. I block and they do full damage. They literally get you to half health before you can land a single hit on them. You also literally cannot break their block and they attack and you lose half your health when you try. They use the strongest,
Most impossible-to-learn combos, and kill you before you can even hit them. When they block, you do no damage. However if YOU block, you’ll still take damage.
Winning in this game is extremely luck based.
Still no online multiplayer?
Mon Sep 07 2020 T-Rex_0420It’s been 8 months since the last game update and since then, I still see no discernible online multiplayer option. Hugely disappointing.
And Developer: please don’t respond with the same thing I keep seeing you say to everyone else, about connecting 2 wireless controllers for Versus mode. I’m talking about *online* multiplayer.
I am finally uninstalling the game; will check back after a while to see if there is a change, but if the last update was 8 months ago... not having much hope. It’s a real shame, because the animations and the game itself is really nicely done.
Ugh. How can you expect me to master these controls???
Thu Feb 11 2021 Sneaky Sasquatch Rocks!I love the game. At least I would if I could actually play the game. The moves are impossible to master, and totally confusing. What are the arrows for? If it’s that you have to move there then this game is impossibly impossible. I have never won one game ever. Please make the controls easier because I can’t play without them. p.s. if the arrows mean something on the apple controller, please make the controllers compatible with mobile devices.
Has potential
Fri Sep 27 2019 BraCKer1986I like the style of the game and I really hope the developers continue to build on it, however it has some issues that need some attention.
I play it with my ps4 DualShock and it works pretty well with it. I played Dog and I noticed an input for his special is listed wrong in the command list. It says it’s a ⬇️↘️➡️ but it’s actually ➡️⬇️↘️.
Right now, it’s a little bare bones but it’s a mobile game in its infancy. I think a great way to build on it would be to add a trial mode where you can try to pull off combos.
It’s okay but...
Sun Dec 29 2019 Jayboogie13I like Punch Planet but the issue I have with it is, that the directions aren’t explained very well. For example I was trying to do an E move or a special attack but I didn’t know how to, so I went to the directions and it only told me what it was and not how to do it. The attacks aren’t as detailed either so I’m clicking random buttons. I will say that the graphics are good and I like the look of the characters, just wish there were more.
That’s all, thanks
I like it!
Mon May 31 2021 Raffaele SantabarbaI’ve seen many negative reviews about this game. Honestly, I’m not sure why. It’s an arcade game, and this game is cooler than most arcade games I played growing up. The graphics are great and the music is right on point. YOU CAN EVEN SWIPE through the buttons trying to get combos! I mean… what else can you ask? 🤷🏻♂️
Great job, guys!
