Version 1.5Fri Feb 20 2026
In this release we've made it easier to jump straight into the action! Enable "Auto Play" to skip inserting coins when you play. We've also taken care of many of the issues you've raised since release. All games are now unlocked for everyone to play! Thanks for playing Retrocade!
Retrocade is a love letter to the neon-soaked era of the 1980s, bringing a curated collection of 10 legendary arcade titles to Apple Arcade. Developed by the spatial computing experts at Resolution Games (creators of Demeo), this app goes beyond a simple emulator. On iPhone and iPad, it offers pixel-perfect recreations of original ROMs with modern QoL features. On Apple Vision Pro, it transforms your room into a personal arcade where you can place full-sized, high-fidelity cabinets in your physical space. The launch lineup includes heavy hitters from Atari, Bandai Namco, Konami, and Taito: Asteroids, Breakout, Bubble Bobble, Centipede, Frogger, Galaga, Haunted Castle, Pac-Man, Space Invaders, and Track & Field. With global leaderboards and a persistent 'Daily Challenge' system, Retrocade offers a competitive edge to classic high-score chasing without the need for a pocket full of quarters.
On Apple Vision Pro, the first thing you should do is enter 'Immersive Mode' to scan your room. You can then 'drag and drop' arcade cabinets onto your floor. To maximize your high scores in Track & Field or Galaga, we highly recommend connecting a Bluetooth controller (like a PS5 DualSense or Xbox controller), as the rapid-fire inputs required for these titles are much easier to manage than the default gesture or touch controls. Look for the 'Secret Token' hidden behind the Pac-Man cabinet in the virtual lobby to unlock the 'Neon Glow' skin for your avatar.
Gameplay is a faithful recreation of the original arcade boards, but with added 'Save States' and a 'Rewind' feature for those particularly punishing 80s difficulty spikes. Every day, the 'Daily Challenge' highlights one of the 10 games with a specific modifier (e.g., 'Pac-Man: No Power Pellets' or 'Centipede: Double Speed'). Completing these challenges earns you 'Arcade Tickets,' which can be traded for cosmetic upgrades for your virtual cabinets and the arcade environment itself.
Resolution Games has hinted that the current 10-game roster is just the 'Launch Wave.' Plans are in place to add more licensed classics from the 80s and 90s in seasonal updates throughout 2026.
