A creative game
Tue Feb 25 2020 MurcielagoZhouThis is a creative game which has a fused gameplay. The game appeared to be very easy at the beginning which is a good thing. It will not be a rejecting experience for new players. The good thing is the game ramps up the difficulty at a right pace. 4, 5 chapters later, the game become hard enough to requires multiple attempts to win. In order to win really requires strong short term memory and quick reaction. Which will consume tons of energy while playing, therefore I got exhausted after about half an hour of gaming.
The graphics is good, I particularly like the visual feedback on the map to show the progress of pushing back the snow and ice. It is better than most of the Candy Crush style map. But the drawback is the difference of the maps between chapters is minor. So after some time, you will feel the repetitiveness. Same story to the animals you rescued after each level, they’re the same bear. I guess it’s down to the budget concern, but the different environment and animals to rescue can be a great motivation for players to move on instead of just increasing the difficulty.
Too Easy
Thu Dec 19 2019 Just me57Not a bad game. Just too easy and short. Took about 30 mins to beat the game and only had to replay a level once. Just need to know some basic math and have decent memory. Looks like they will be updating so hopefully more challenging levels. Also, looks like we’ll get to utilize the other characters more which may be a nice update.
Needs more options
Sun Jan 30 2022 stickboy76This is a great game with a beautiful art style, and great sound, as well as a fun memory style RPG battle system…..BUT, the speed at which the on screen dialog pops up and disappears, is blazing fast. My son is 9 and a fairly accomplished reader and he cant process half of what the game is trying to say, before its off screen. I started my own game to see if this was something he was doing, but I was barely able to catch the text myself. The devs need to slow that down, or patch it to stay on screen until you tap. Something in the way of an accessibility options menu, would work as well.
Great game so far
Wed Dec 11 2019 PainterDave1979I actually really liked the animations and art of this game. The gameplay seems simple enough to learn but the challenge ramps up pretty quick. Glad to see they are updating this game and hope to see more levels!
Love it
Mon Aug 24 2020 DuckwalledReally enjoyed it. Beat it in a day; can’t wait for new levels.
I don’t understand the appeal.
Sun Feb 06 2022 blaiceIt’s a “memorization/guess” game with easy or inflated difficulty more akin to frustration than skill and enjoyment. The tutorial was enough to quickly comprehend the shortcomings of the gameplay involved. Little enjoyment to be found in this game.
Relaxing!
Fri Jul 15 2022 J434088I don’t need to be super challenged. This is a fun game!
Tales of Memo
Sun Oct 27 2019 cdkiiTales of Memo is a memory-based, mathematics game with a little bit of strategy involved.
So far, the game is fairly short at ~36 levels, though the difficulty scales considerably as the game progresses. I think younger children are going to have a lot of difficulty with the later levels since it requires figuring out the strategy to complete the level with mathematics under a time constraint.
Start to finish, Screen Time says I spent just over an hour playing through it. Upon completing the final level, the game does mention that this is “Chapter One” so it’s possible it will be expanded in the future, but there isn’t currently much replay value.
I don’t regret playing the game, though it’s definitely not something I would have played outside of Apple Arcade. I was also disappointed that this game doesn’t have any GameCenter Achievements to unlock.
Of note: I found it much easier to play on an iPad than iPhone due to the small size of the chests on the smaller screen.
One of the worst games I’ve ever played
Sat Oct 26 2019 Lil PipsI don’t know who this game is for. I saw that it was a simple memorization game, and thought, “oh this will be simple, maybe a child’s game”. This is one of the most frustrating experiences I’ve ever had in a game. I’ve made it to a “boss” level by sheer force of will (getting through the awful puzzles and bad controls and ridiculous timing). The boss has 150 hit points, and the only way to do that much damage is to stack a few chest matches and then stack three or more multipliers. You have to do this all within 10 seconds or else you take a hit and it all gets reset. Oh, also, every 3 seconds all the chests get shuffled.
The only bright spot is that a visit to the developer’s web page shows that they have only developed one game thus far. GOOD. Let’s leave it that way.
If Arcade continues to let games like this in, what is the point of curation?
Just not fun.
Sat Oct 26 2019 AxominsterThis game is basically a “memory” or “concentration” game. You know, where you flip over a card then flip over another card and if they match, you keep them. There’s not much to it than that.
To be fair, I did play a bit of the levels. I made it through about 20 or so, when the time limit appears. The problem is this game just isn’t fun. There’s not much difference than this and memory. You just tap and then tap the enemy to apply the number you flipped over. There’s not really any other choices in the game which makes it pretty dull.
This game also suffers from the typical arcade problem where there’s no text in the tutorials so there’s times where you’re tapping and have no clue why or why nothing’s happening.
Definitely one of the arcade games to skip.
