4drive Z is a fun, hyper-focused drifting game that understands exactly what its audience wants: tire smoke and sideways action. The physics are definitely more 'arcade' than 'sim,' but that works in its favor, allowing you to perform impossibly long drifts with just a few swipes. The sense of momentum is well-captured, and the car models look great with a stylized, clean finish.

The game shines in its drift-based challenges, where you have to maintain a specific angle to rack up points. While the environments can feel a bit empty, the focus is clearly on the mechanical feel of the car sliding across the asphalt. The customization is decent, allowing you to tweak your car's look and performance. It’s a solid 'fidget-racer' that is perfect for anyone who finds the drift missions in larger games like Asphalt to be the best part of the experience.

Look, I've seen plenty of racing sims come and go over the last twenty years, and 4Drive Z looks like it wants to be the next big thing for JDM enthusiasts. The car models are surprisingly detailed for mobile, and the focus on Japanese touge culture is exactly what's missing from most arcade racers today. However, being a 'hard reviewer' means I don't give points for potential; I give them for performance.

Right now, the game is plagued by login issues and crashes that make it virtually unplayable for a large portion of the user base. Even when it works, the physics feel a bit floaty compared to the legends of the genre. It’s got heart, but the execution is sloppy. I don’t care how many decals you let me put on a Silvia if the engine won't turn over.

Initiating the Slide

Don't just turn hard. Tap the handbrake while turning and immediately counter-steer. The goal is to keep the nose of the car pointing toward the inside of the turn while the rear swings out.

Your score multiplier increases the longer you maintain a single continuous drift. Use 'Nitrous' on straightaways to keep the wheels spinning and prevent the drift meter from resetting.
