Dinsun here. It pains me to see a Taito classic treated like this. The core gameplay of Bust-A-Move is perfection—it’s the gold standard that every other bubble shooter has tried to copy for thirty years. Tapping to aim is functional, and the physics are exactly as I remember them from the Neo Geo days. Seeing Bub and Bob at the bottom of the screen still brings a smile to my face.
But this 'Journey' version is riddled with modern mobile greed. The difficulty curve is clearly designed to force you into using consumable power-ups, and the life system is a relic that serves only to stall progress or ask for money. It turns a game of skill into a game of endurance and wallets. If you can ignore the constant prompts for IAPs, there's a great game buried under here, but the 'free-to-play' wrapper leaves a sour taste for a conservative gamer like me who just wants to pay once and play.
