I remember when sports games required a bit of finesse. Basketball Master: Dunk Hero is the fast-food version of a sports game. You swipe, you dunk, you repeat. It's meant to be 'satisfying,' but the satisfaction wears off in about three minutes. The physics are entirely unrealistic—which I know is the point—but they lack the internal consistency that makes good arcade games work.
The character designs are generic 'cool' archetypes, and the progression system is just a treadmill to keep you watching ads for 'special' balls that don't change the gameplay. For a 40-year-old gamer who grew up on *NBA Jam*, this is a hollow imitation. It’s functional as a time-waster, but don't go in expecting anything resembling a sports simulation or even a deep arcade experience. It’s a 39, and I’m being generous because the frame rate is solid.
