Rhythm games on mobile live or die by their latency, and Beat Stage is currently dying. The desync between the visual notes and the audio track is noticeable enough to ruin any high-level play. The 'battle' aspect is just a distraction—it’s two people playing the same song and seeing whose internet connection is better. The tracklist is mostly generic royalty-free EDM that all sounds the same. It’s a pale imitation of 'Guitar Hero' or 'Beatmania' that fails to understand that rhythm requires precision, not just flashing lights.
