Exactly what we wanted but still missing features
Tue Jul 22 2025 Skilled FNF VeteranThis is a phenomenal port of a former strictly PC based game, which is impressive knowing you guys build this from the ground up. I have yet to get the “story mode” or “credits” buttons to work, and some buttons in the settings like “downscroll” are not interactive whatsoever. As much as I would’ve wanted a version of the game that doesn’t rely on a PC porting engine, I’m happy that we get to keep the original feel of the PC game. I think that in time, this game will finally run properly for iOS devices, and hopefully, we get some new CONTENT updates down the line that make this port really shine. Please add upscroll though, as that’s what I’m used to. I’ve played Roblox ports of FNF with big rectangles on the screen corresponding to each arrow, and it gave me a LOT more flexibility than the tiny and strictly downscroll arrows on this official port. In general, this is flawless in transferring the original gameplay into the mobile sphere, but it could use some flashing out of its base features and some additional gameplay options like rectangles that take up the full screen and upscroll. Thanks for making my dream come true, I’ve been waiting for a version of vanilla FNF that I can install from the App Store that runs like butter for years. (Just thought of this, one day FNF should implement a mod portal into their game, that would be sick)
Amazing Port, Wonderful Game
Tue Jul 29 2025 DanceDanceRevoltAs a fan of the game for nearly 5 years now, the coolest rhythm game ever is now on mobile, and it’s better than ever in my opinion. The controls are amazingly translated over! By holding my phone with my hands and using my thumbs, the game feels really comfortable to play. I especially appreciate being able to slide from one note to the other. While it doesn’t seem very useful, a tip for less seasoned players is to slide from one note to the other very quickly when doubles come up! It helps keep the flow and makes it really fun to play where it otherwise might be unfair. Everything else about the game is just perfect! The style is just as pleasing to look at, and perfectly carried over. The convenience of being able to play this massive amount of content on the most easily accessible platform is perfect when I have some time to pull out my phone and try to get a P-Rank. And the ability to add modded content through the files is the cherry on top!! While it isn’t perfect yet, I’d argue this version of Funkin’ is the most polished yet, thanks of course to the talented mobile team who made this whole thing possible! Great work to the team, and I couldn’t be any more excited for the future of the game.
2hot is not possible on hard mode
Fri Jul 25 2025 4thDimensionalTopHatSo the game is good I love it as much as I did when I first played it on my laptop in like 2020 but 2hot is just so dumb on hard mode. Now I’m willing to say it could be a skill issue to some degree but I swear the double notes will not work sometimes like they’ll miss even if I hit them perfectly. Also the bar at the top (the one with the charters faces on it that kills too if it gets all the way in the enemys favor) will not go back down even if I hit a bunch of notes in a row this could be a problem on other songs to and I didn’t notice it but either way that’s apart of the problem. Now I wouldn’t make this review saying this and would just say “yeah it’s a me problem” if it wasn’t for the end of the song. I can’t describe it but anyone reading this go check for yourself and you’ll get what I mean. But no player with 2 thumbs would be able to hit all of those and you could say “just use your fingers” but 1, that’s a very uncomfortable way to hold my phone and 2 that’s not something I should have to do that’s like forcing a computer player who’s been using the arrow keys to suddenly use the ASWD keys. It’s muscle memory I don’t have built up and would be very difficult to not only undo the musical memory I have for my thumb but also build up for my fingers. Overall that song needs a nerf at the very least at the end of it.
It’s a good mobile version of FNF but I have some problems with it. (Not in a rude way.)
Sun Jul 27 2025 Mr. HedgetasticIt’s a good mobile version of FNF. It works well, it’s smooth, doesn’t crash much. It sometimes freezes in the results screen for me but it’s not that big of a deal. The only problem I have are the controls. I can play well, yeah. But it’s difficult to play with just the notes. In my opinion, they’re too small for my fingers. My fingers are cramped up, and I sometimes miss the notes entirely. I’d prefer if there were tiles like in the Roblox version of FNF. And maybe upscroll. I’m not that good with downscroll. Anyways, that’s really I have to say.
Edit: Okay, I’ve been getting a little better at it. I’ve gotten a lot of “Excellent”’s in my songs. Still, wish there was upscroll and tiles. Sometimes in songs, my phones thinks I swipe up and then I head my tabs. Which messes me up. That’s why tiles or upscroll would be good. Still… overall a very good game. Love it. Love seeing the menu and stuff on my phone.
One AMAZING Port without Some Polish
Wed Jul 16 2025 ThatHelpfulEagleI’ve been playing the PC version of FNF since late 2020, and I can say with confidence that this is one of the best ports I’ve ever seen from PC to Mobile! Pretty much everything is here, but there are a few things that bug me. First of all, no Newgrounds Login support, so you can’t upload your records and get on the leaderboard. Next, progression. Right out the box, you immediately have Pico unlocked and also BF has his mixes of Pico songs available, what happened to competing Weekend 1 to unlock Pico? Finally, the notes can be a little hard to hit for someone with bigger hands like me. Maybe increase the arrow scale, or even add back upscroll for the people who want it… okay that might just be me… but that can be done with four even sections on the screen that correspond to the four arrows. Overall, this port is amazing, with the extra little things that make it feel better (such as haptics!) its a joy to play, and I would 100% recommend this game to others!
The most fun I’ve had in a mobile game yet
Mon Aug 04 2025 Grey the Average GamerI used to play this game on newgrounds a few years back and had fun with it even though the controls on keyboard were a little difficult. When I saw the trailer for the game being officially released on mobile, I downloaded it immediately. Also, in the trailer, I was surprised to hear boyfriend talk, had no idea what would sound like that. Anyway, they fixed the only problem I had with the pc version, the controls. The arrows are so much easier to hit on mobile. Not only that, but they added a scores, a new UI layout, the new week, better noise clips for boyfriend, and a FREAKING LEVEL COMPLETE SCREEN. They were not kidding when they said that this game was built from the ground up. Also, THIS PORT SUPPORTS MODS, they were thinking of everything when making this. I have not experienced any bugs yet, so that’s a huge plus in my book.
Recommending this to my dad
love the game, small suggestion
Mon Aug 04 2025 sportsysi loved fnf when it came out and i absolutely love the new songs and difficulties, but i do wish the sliding (?) mechanic was more clearly explained! i play with my thumbs on my phone (any other way on mobile hurts my wrists) and i fully thought that, for example, two notes on the up & right arrows at the same time or in very quick succession were impossible for me to hit. while trying to play one of the notes like that i accidentally realized you could slide across the arrows instead of needing to tap every time and it made so much of the charting on the harder songs make much more sense
i know the game has its tutorial song but it's a bit inadequate when there's new mechanics you can just find workarounds to until the songs get harder. it's SO fun to get the sliding down and i just wish it was a more obvious feature! :3
FIX THE LAG PLEASE!!!
Mon Jul 21 2025 AnonymousUser745I am a big fan of Friday Night Funkin' and had always wanted to play it for real but never got the chance to officially play it until now, so please fix the lag problem with the game! My game lags whenever I literally do anything, even when the menu shows up and I do nothing. I couldn't even press the buttons without lag spikes (most likely from the particle effects and how high quality it is), so please fix this one issue. It's unplayable like this, so I genuinely hope this is fixed in some way for the mobile users like me. -From Anonymous745
P.S. I discovered it works on iPhone 13 at minimum, but not iPad, so...frick. (Also, can you please make the screen able to be vertical? I'm used to playing the knockoff of this game that has vertical controls and the buttons are outlined, unlike the official game.)
Best mobile adaptation ever.
Sun Aug 17 2025 juliovonspit82From the audio quality to the quality of the video it truly feels like the original Friday night funkin’ experience, I in my full playthough of the game only experienced ONE buffer during a song and the sound quality was amazing, great visuals and good settings. I do wish in the future maybe there would be a setting to decrease or increase the distance between notes as sometimes I would like to be able to more quickly click between two notes. Besides that it works INCREDIBLY well, and even though there are ads they appear not that often and are very quick and simple, probably the least ads I’ve seen in a mobile game with ads, you’ll forget they even exist and even when one appears it barely affects the experience. 10/10
Really well made; just one issue.
Thu Jul 17 2025 Strife_SpecibiSo, I wanna preface this with saying I haven’t cared about FnF in a few years. I checked out the Pico release, but didn’t really start playing again. With that being said, this port is really solid. It looks nice graphically, it runs smooth, the ads aren’t intrusive like most games, and the purchase to remove them is really cheap. However, the notes are both set to downscroll with no way to use upscroll, but are also hard to see when using anything other than your thumbs. Meanwhile when using your thumbs it makes things like doubles that are right beside each other impossible to do. Personally, I would recommend adding tiles as a control option that are both bigger but also colorcoded to the notes. This could make it easier to play and a lot more enjoyable. Other than this one gripe though I do really enjoy this port.
