TMNT: Shredder's Revenge on mobile is an absolute triumph. Often, mobile ports of console games feel like an afterthought, but through Netflix Games, this feels premium and perfectly tuned. The touch controls are surprisingly viable—though I still recommend a Bluetooth controller for the higher difficulty levels. The pixel art is some of the best in the business, bursting with personality and 80s nostalgia that makes every frame look like a Saturday morning cartoon.

The gameplay is fast, fluid, and incredibly fun. Each turtle (plus Splinter, April, and Casey) feels distinct, with their own ranges and special moves. The addition of online multiplayer is the cherry on top, allowing you to relive the arcade glory days with friends from anywhere. It’s a love letter to the franchise that manages to be both a great retro throwback and a fantastic modern beat 'em up. It is easily one of the best games currently available on mobile.

Finally, a real game. Growing up in arcades, I have a very low tolerance for people messing with the Ninja Turtles. Thankfully, Tribute Games knew exactly what they were doing. The combat is snappy, the music is a nostalgia trip that actually works, and the pixel art is some of the best in the business. It’s not just a lazy trip down memory lane; the mechanics are evolved enough to keep a veteran interested.

My only real gripe is the transition to touch controls. While they've done a decent job, this game demands a controller for anything above the easiest difficulty. Playing this on a flat screen feels like wearing mittens to play the piano. But if you have a Backbone or a Bluetooth pad, this is arguably the best action game currently available on the platform. It's high-quality, ad-free (if you have Netflix), and devoid of the usual mobile rot.
