I just wanna say how shocked I am by how much is packed into this tiny download. You can quickly tell this title was created by people who love what they are doing. Next I want to say how thankful I am for growing up when I did.. these people posting 1 star reviews due to having to simply pay for a product should honestly be ashamed. Where does that kind of entitlement come from? Their parents? How hard is it to understand that people have worked hard to bring this game to us. Spent time away from their families and loved ones. Stayed up late into the night, giving us the fruit of their blood sweat and tears. Why wouldn’t it be fair to ask for compensation for a provided service? For those of you STILL complaining that this title costs money you should really just be ashamed it this point. It’s a great game. It deserves our praise and our money. Devs thank you all for your hard work!

★★★★★ Great little gem of a game

This game is very addicting, invoking the ‘just one more turn’ mentality. It’s the perfect game for mobile since you can spend minutes on it, or hours if you want. There’s no mobile dark patterns design in here, just a game for the sake of having fun playing. You get a free trial which is the perfect amount of trial to get to know the game, then a small one-time fee to unlock the full game which is still cheaper than the cheapest freemium tier currency purchase on almost every other mobile game these days. The only critique I have is that some of the stats are a bit underpowered. Vampirism drops off in usefulness very fast, and some talents are giving you like +3 hp in turn 5 when enemies are starting to hit for like 20.

I love this game so much. Third time I've bought it now, and I'm happy to play it some more. I wish I could transfer my save from PC over, but oh well. The only issue I have is that iCloud/Game Center save syncing doesn't work at all. I've tried so many things. Rebooting each device, making sure there isn't a conflicting save on the other device, multiple connection points, giving it several hours to ensure it syncs, copying the save to another slot and seeing if that kicks it in, deleting a fresh save on the other device in hopes of maybe "clearing" space for the save. So far, nothing at all has worked.

Overall it’s an absolutely amazing game that you should definitely play. The only reason I give it 4 instead of 5 stars: the rng can sometimes really really really screw your run, which is completely understandable in these types of games. But when that happens several runs in a row I pretty much just totally lose interest. It would be AWESOME if the rng could be tweaked so that certain cards would have a higher or lower percent of showing depending on other cards. Like for instance I HATE the village and wheat fields like a passion because my hand will fill up completely full of wheat fields. But I’ll never get a single village card. So the wheat fields are totally unplayable and therefore deleting cards that I WANT to keep. Beyond frustrating. So when that just keeps happening: I’m done.

★★★★★ Perfect iPad Game

I’ve played this game on the computer and loved it, but it’s even better on a mobile device. The gameplay is simple but addictive, with a semi-random nature reminiscent of roguelikes, but with enough consistent progress that you always feel like you succeeded in something, even if you die. It also has a charming setting and story, and it’s as well suited to a 15 minute game as it is to a multi-hour binge. The only thing I wish it had was an expansion, DLC, or sequel - but there’s plenty of content and replayability here! Easy 5/5

★★★★★ There’s nothing like it

Loop Hero is inventing a genre, the way Slay The Spire created roguelite deck builders. Perhaps not the first, but first to get it right. It doesn’t seem like much at first, but give it some time. As you build out your base and learn how to strategically place your map tiles, the game comes alive. The description says you don’t control combat—but by your gear selections and how you arrange the path, you absolutely do. 5 Stars for gameplay, 4 for graphics which I hope are better on a sequel, but turn on the pixel shader, it helps a lot. This is a unique, well designed game I will be playing for a long time.

★★★★★ A real game for your phone!

It’s so rare these days to get games you can just buy and not get pestered by ads or micro transactions. The free version is just a demo but you buy the full game and it’s the full game no more gotchas. The gameplay itself is solid, look it up as the game was a proper PC game before it was ported for the phone. My only gripe is placing tiles sometimes I just want to click on the card to remind myself of its full stats and end up accidentally placing it in a terrible spot but after awhile that’s a rare occurrence.
