Version 3.5.6Fri Mar 14 2025
New content, including "The Clean Cut" and "The End is Near" updates.
Dead Cells is a critically acclaimed roguevania action platformer that puts you in control of a failed alchemic experiment trying to uncover the mysteries of a sprawling, ever-changing castle on a gloomy island. To succeed, you must master frantic 2D combat using a wide variety of weapons and skills against merciless minions and bosses. With no checkpoints, the game challenges you to kill, die, learn, and repeat, blending the replayability of a roguelite with the exploration of a metroidvania. Each run offers unique experiences due to procedurally generated levels, permanent upgrades, and diverse weapons. The game features stunning pixel art, immersive gameplay, and a rich atmosphere inspired by classic titles. Available on iOS with a revamped mobile interface, it supports MFi controllers, offers customizable touch controls, and includes no ads or free-to-play mechanics. Recent updates like Clean Cut and The End is Near, along with the Return to Castlevania DLC, add new biomes, weapons, bosses, and soundtracks.
Begin your journey in the Prisoner's Quarters, the starting biome. Focus on learning enemy patterns and experimenting with different weapons like the Vorpan or Wolf Trap. Collect cells to unlock permanent upgrades between runs. Prioritize health flasks and mobility skills to survive early encounters.
Dead Cells combines fast-paced 2D combat with exploration. Each run involves navigating randomly generated levels, collecting weapons and skills, and fighting enemies. Death sends you back to the start, but cells collected can be spent on permanent upgrades, ensuring progression.
The App Store version of Dead Cells is a one-time purchase with optional DLCs and supports cloud saves, allowing progress syncing across devices. The Netflix version is free for subscribers, includes all DLCs automatically, but lacks cloud save functionality, meaning progress is lost if the app is reinstalled.
