Best BJ app by far
Wed Feb 09 2022 Malignant NarcissistI’ve tried many free and pay BJ apps and this one easily remains my favorite. Free chips and plenty of options which allow for practice using different rules/odds that you might find in various casinos and cruise ships... BJ pays 3/2 or 6/5 - Splitting Aces (and/or re-split) - Double after split - Surrender - From 1-8 decks, and much more.
Auto re-bet is nice option, set the speed of play, table color, several card designs, play in portrait or landscape modes (great for iPad). Strategy advice (on/off), training hands, and it saves your statistics to review your play.
If your looking for real practice, you found it with this app. The reviews saying blackjack is rigged for the dealer, are correct; and probably have very little experience in a casino. The odds are always on the houses side. That’s how the bills are paid. Learn the odds, or stick with slots. There is no motivation for the developer to rig this game. Although there are some settings/options in this game I’d sure like to have in a casino.
My only recommendations are sync bankroll with iPad/iPhone, and a option to play friend(s) online.
Rigged
Sat Nov 11 2023 88feverThe deck is rigged against you completely, this is not realistic, it’s not that hard to tell that the cards aren’t random bet high and you will get a bad hand reduce your bet extremely and your hand improves tremendously. The dealer goes on winning streaks which happens in real bj of course but not as much as portrayed here. I’ve had fun trying to find a way to exploit dealer streaks by betting low and when the game gives you a rare win streak to bet high but it doesn’t always work because the game almost always gives you a bad hand when you bet higher. Also whenever your supposed to double or split by basic strategy the game will screw you over 9/10 times with the card you draw being bad or the dealer gets a 21 from a 3-6 revealed card. I can’t count how many times I’ve had a good hand to stay but the dealer is always 1 more up. The algorithm seems to just decide that you are going to lose, whatever shuffle their is isn’t consistent. I have to wonder what incentive their is for the developer to rig the deck this way, perhaps if you buy the pro version some of these issues might be resolved. The longer you play the worse the odds get which is realistic, it’s best to just play a few hands and take your winnings doing this I’ve been able to grow the balance substantially. Despite all the issues this is the best blackjack app I’ve tried so far although that isn’t saying much. If you want to really learn it’s best to just use real cards.
Best in the AppStore
Mon Sep 04 2017 My2senteThis is the best blackjack app I've found in the AppStore. I have tried quite a few of them and none of the other apps come close.
Of the others I've tried, they all want you to buy chips, or their shuffle algorithm favors the dealer overwhelmingly, or both.
The great attributes of this game are:
- Chips are free. No extra chip buying!
- The shuffle algorithm is as close to the real thing as I've come across.
- The table settings allows you to set it up the same as you would find in Vegas .
- The free version gives you all the functionality, just with ads.
- Removing adds forever is just $1.99, which is a very fair price (I paid it almost immediately).
- It actually plays in landscape on the iPad, unlike a lot of the others that's still mostly geared towards the iPhone in portrait.
- The app developer is very responsive to suggestions and requests, and clearly knows the ins and outs of blackjack.
- It's great to play just for fun (there's a luck booster) or to use it to practice for the real thing.
I'm using it to prep for an upcoming Vegas trip, and it has already helped me to become better at basic strategy and bankroll management.
Kudos to the developer for creating this great blackjack app!
Deck not balanced
Mon Sep 13 2021 1stSgt USMCAlways seems to be heavy on Aces and lean on Face Cards. I’ve changed the numbers of decks but I don’t have the ability to shuffle…the “Request Scuffle” never works in settings and there is no indicator on the game table. Enjoy the game, but when I get 5 Aces dealt back to back…just not realistic. Did a count of Aces in the shoe: Aces of Hearts-14 Aces of Diamonds-24 Aces of Clubs-25 Aces of Spades-22
Update: The developer, Mark, took time to work with me to correct the problem that I was experiencing with the deck not being balanced and a number of features that were not working. Due to his outstanding customer service, the game now is outstanding and very realistic. I can’t thank him enough for the time he took to assist me in correcting the problems.
Great interface; suspect algorithm
Mon Nov 25 2024 RipleyfriscoThe Pro version is worth it. Provides many settings to customize the game for your casino rules. This interface is the best. Cards are large, buttons placed on screen, chips on screen. And NO Ads. Now the down-side… not sure why the developer has programmed the game to wipe you out when you begin to bet high. Time and time again, if bets are near table max the dealer pulls crazy hands to beat you. I’ve seen this go 10 hands in a row multiple times. Drop your bet to min and the hands move in your favor. Doesn’t make sense since replenishing your bank account is free and frustrating the player with unrealistic cards does not lead to Tips for the developer. It’s too bad the algorithm is wonky like this because this is the best interface out there.
Good app, but still cheats
Sat Oct 05 2024 IncineraryThis is probably one of the better blackjack apps I’ve tried. Chips are free to replenish, the ad banner at the bottom of the screen is not disruptive, and the flow of the game is very smooth. However, like every other digital blackjack app out there, it’s rigged. The fact that you can turn on or off a “Luck Booster” proves this. Every time I play with real cards, I win significantly more often. Seriously, on this app I bust almost every other hand, and literally just about every single time I double a 10 or 11, it gives me a 2,3, or 4 and the computer wins almost every time. I don’t understand what the content creator gets out of making an app that cheats. I wish for an app that has a predetermined shuffled deck of cards that doesn’t change and could furthermore be checked to ensure the computer isn’t cheating and changing the order of the cards. What’s so hard about that?
Developer has put the work in!
Sun May 09 2021 SirJimmyJamI’ve been playing this app for a few years now. There is not a better blackjack training app in existence. The goal is to be unconsciously competent of this unpredictable casino game. This app delivers, hands down. Why? Because it mimics exactly what happens when the player deviates from basic strategy, but most importantly, it reveals how many hands are actually not winnable. And it’s refreshing to know what, we as players, are really going up against. Thanks for making an outstanding simulator. My only suggested update? Two hands. There’s a different strategy on playing when you know one hand is weak and the other likely a winner.
Great for learning, but…
Fri Feb 09 2024 Chayse_GrizzellThe advice function is a great tool for learning, but the actual hands themselves are absurd and unrealistic… the dealer ALWAYS turns the card it needs (high or low). You can almost predict the next card. It’s amazing how the dealer always seems to never pull a face/10 card when they are sitting between 12-16. If they are showing face, you better believe they are flipping face or flipping multiple low cards and not bust. I was actually laughing out loud watching hands unfold. I’ve played a lot of blackjack and after just 15 minutes of messing around on this app it would have been one of the worst days at a table I’ve have ever experienced. My win rate (using the apps advice, which is the correct play) must have been lower than 20%. That’s unrealistic even on bad days.
Not authentic. Still fun, but not true to namesake
Mon Jan 15 2024 SchmiedmanIn the past few weeks I’ve played on and off with this app, but I’ve come to realize rather quickly that the cards are duplicated, multiple hands are played where the exact same 10 of spades or king of clubs are in both the dealer’s and my hand, and attempting to count or use this to practice is really a matter of skill in patience and rigging the game’s algorithm:
Once you have a push, lower bet until next push followed by a win, then raise bet and win multiple hands until push.
Please at least add a proper card counting mechanic in your game’s system to toggle rather than randomize only. It’s fun and enjoyable to screw around on, but to call this close to casino authentic then have 3 of the same queen in a split does not scream authenticity to me.
Beat The Casino: Not So Fast
Sun Dec 31 2017 mgmd1Blackjack is a humbling game. It will bring you to highs and lows in a matter of seconds! This game, the only one I’ve found in the App Store, is by far, the single most realistic, non-promotional, game out there for Blackjack. Not only will you see what a buy in will potentially make (or cost) it sets a realistic level of money management for when you do go to the casino. I’ve tried countless apps, this is the only one that continues to exceed expectations, by the way real blackjack will only be played. Well done - and I highly recommend playing before you enter the real game. The more hands you play, the more you will realize how much of a streaky game it really is! Good luck ✅
