Bonza has always been one of the few casual mobile franchises I don't mind spending time with. It’s clean, it’s quiet, and it doesn't shout at you. 'Phrases' is more of the same, which is both its strength and its weakness. It lacks the 'eureka' moments of the original crossword-style puzzles because phrases are often too easy to guess once you have a few fragments. It's a bit too conservative in its design—I'd like to see them take more risks. Still, for a morning coffee distraction, it’s perfectly acceptable. It's 'competent' but not 'compelling.'
