Cartel: Inception in IOS

Build a criminal Empire

Our Site Score

76/100

Cartel Inception is a gritty, strategic empire-builder that successfully avoids the 'generic tycoon' trap by incorporating high-stakes tactical combat. You aren't just clicking on buildings to collect money; you are managing supply lines and defending your territory from rival factions. The management layer is surprisingly deep, requiring a delicate balance between production, logistics, and muscle.

The game's atmosphere is top-notch, with a dark, cinematic visual style that fits the theme perfectly. The tactical combat segments are the highlight, requiring genuine thought about unit placement and timing. While the wait timers for construction can be a bit long in the late game, the constant threat of 'raids' keeps you engaged. It’s a compelling, mature-themed strategy game that rewards long-term planning.

Dinsun Review

Dinsun here. I’ve seen enough Breaking Bad to know where this is going. Cartel: Inception tries to do too many things at once. It’s part business sim, part turn-based RPG, and part card game. The result is a 'jack of all trades, master of none' situation. Managing your drug labs and laundries is satisfying enough, but the UI is a nightmare of tiny buttons and confusing menus.

The turn-based combat is basic and lacks the tactical depth of something like XCOM. It leans heavily into a 'gritty' aesthetic that feels a bit forced and dated. It’s an ambitious project for mobile, but it needs a lot more polish. Right now, it feels like work rather than play. I’d rather just re-watch the show.
