Our Expert Score

85/100

Choice of Life: Middle Ages 2 is a brilliant evolution of the 'Reigns-style' decision-making genre. It takes the simple card-swiping mechanic and expands it into a sprawling, multi-layered medieval adventure that feels much more personal than its predecessor. You start as a peasant and, through a series of often-hilarious and sometimes-brutal choices, navigate the complex social hierarchy of a kingdom. What I love most is how the game remembers your past actions; a small kindness shown to a beggar in the first ten minutes might be the very thing that saves your life when you're a knight hours later.

The humor is sharp, leaning into the absurdity of medieval life while still maintaining a sense of genuine stakes. The art style is clean and charming, and the sheer number of branching paths is staggering. It’s one of the few games where I actually enjoy failing, because the 'Game Over' scenarios are often just as entertaining and well-written as the success paths. It’s a perfect 'one-more-try' experience for anyone who loves storytelling and light RPG elements.
