Crossword Dungeon is a genius mashup of a word game and a roguelike RPG. Instead of just solving a crossword, you are a hero navigating a dungeon. The enemies are defeated by filling in the crossword clues correctly, and your progress through the map depends on your vocabulary. It turns a normally solitary and quiet activity into a tense, high-stakes adventure.

The RPG elements—leveling up, gear, and different enemy types—add a layer of strategy that I didn't expect. You have to decide whether to go for the easy words to finish off a weak enemy or save the harder ones to trigger a special ability. It’s a fresh take on two very different genres that works surprisingly well together. If you love Scrabble and Dungeons & Dragons, this is your dream game.

In each level, you'll encounter monsters that represent different sections of a crossword. Complete the words to deal damage and move deeper into the dungeon. Find loot, level up your hero, and use your wit to survive the deepest levels of the crossword crypt.
