Don't just spend all your gold on base damage. Invest early in the 'Interest' and 'Bonus Gold' research nodes. This will exponentially increase your buying power in the mid-to-late game waves, allowing you to afford the incredibly expensive 'Super Weapons' later on.

Prestige and Rebirth

When you hit a wall and can no longer survive the waves, use the Rebirth mechanic. You'll lose your current wave progress but gain permanent 'Fortress Shards' that can be used to unlock massive, game-changing buffs that carry over forever.
