Dinsun Review
I’ve seen a lot of licensed games in my forty years, and Jackass Human Slingshot is exactly what I feared it would be: a generic 'launch and crash' simulator with a Jackass coat of paint. It’s the kind of game that tries to substitute actual gameplay with the 'shock value' of seeing a digital ragdoll hit a wall. In the first ten minutes, you've seen everything the game has to offer. You pull back, you release, you watch a bar fill up. There’s no nuance here, no clever physics puzzles, just a repetitive grind for coins to make the numbers go up so you can fly five feet further next time.
The progression system is as conservative as it gets, gated by the usual mobile treadmill. It’s disappointing because the Jackass IP actually has potential for creative, physics-based chaos, but this feels like a template that was sitting on a shelf and had Johnny Knoxville's likeness slapped onto it at the last minute. If you’re looking for a serious game, or even a decent physics simulator, you aren’t going to find it here. It’s a distraction for your phone while you’re waiting for a bus, and even then, it wears out its welcome fast. I’ve played better versions of this concept on Flash websites two decades ago.
