2nd Chance Customization
Mon Dec 19 2022 house opinonI’ve been playing this game for 6 mouths now, and I’ve yet to grow tired of it. This game is fun, interesting, and the graphics are not like anything I’ve seen especially with the most resent update. I do don’t know if it’s just me but I love to customize and role-play with my characters. With the most recent update I’m dying to see and us the new feature. I’ve been trying to see if their was a way to re-customize, but I don’t think their is one. And I think it would be cool if we got a chance to re-customize our family or at least the ones we started with just so we can get a chance to us the new update. Also I think it would also be cool if the characters could die of old age or of some sort of sickness that would through excitement to the game, because I know with myself I always feel bad sacrificing my people in the volcano. And lastly something I also thing could be really cool is if their was a feature where you could see the family tree of all the characters in the keep. I don’t know if it’s just me but I like to know who comes from who, who is with who. Overall the game is amazing and I love it can’t wait for future updates.
Playing free & loving it
Thu Oct 20 2022 PartyOnDarthStarted playing this game on a road trip and quickly became addicted. Haven’t put a single penny of actual cash into the game and I’m doing well, having a blast. Anyone who says you need to pay to do well in this game isn’t investing their time right. Time is just as valuable as money in this game. I was worried I’d start slacking once my vacation ended and I was back to work where I can’t be gaming on my phone but the game is built to accommodate pockets of away time. My progress slowed slightly but not enough to be frustrating. My only complaints with the game is that there seems to still be a lot of bugs/glitches - the most frustrating being the in game notifications; red dots showing up when I don’t actually have the resources to upgrade that item or train that unit. And sometimes no red dot showing up even when I do have the resources to train. A fun one I’ve noticed is a headless noble at various trading posts, decapitated head stuck in the sand, and when you click him suddenly a giant version of him appears. So giant only his feet up to his knees fit in the camera view. Anyway great game, keeps ya busy when you’re actively playing but allows you to schedule time away productively too. Sure spending money helps but isn’t necessary. I’d definitely recommend to others, and am hopeful the bugs will get fixed in time.
Keeps you interested just enough
Sun Aug 21 2022 JazzpackSo far, I don’t really have any issues with this game. The gameplay is cool, learning isn’t hard, you get tons of speed ups by completing events and meeting goals, and the same thing with gold. A little bit of patience is needed, of course. You don’t rack up items that quickly but you don’t have to spend an arm and a leg. Caveat, I am entering the stage of the game where 1,3,5, 20 minute speed ups aren’t as useful unless you have a boatload of them. I just lost my shield you get before you hit level 10. So there’s a possibility I can get ransacked soon. Prior to losing your shield, you do have the ability to complete a ton of research and create a huge army, granted they are all level 1. However, you can rack up the ability to create weapons and body armor for your troops to help protect them and make them stronger. Once again though, they aren’t battle tested against stronger players, so it may all account for nothing. I couldn’t give this game 5 stars because I haven’t fought against stronger opponents and I couldn’t tell you if of people spend a lot of money on this game. I haven’t spent anything yet and I have achieved a lot so far. If you complete all the research you can before level 10, then you should stand somewhat of a chance. I would think anyway.
Downhill
Thu Sep 15 2022 Icy burgerUnfortunately since Scopely took over the game has become all about spending money. They strive to make the game as difficult as possible for f2p so more and more people are forced to spend money. I’ve been playing this game for about a year now and at first it was awesome. There was one pack that was a double pvp damage pack that cost $100 and that was the only way you could get it, while that was a clear cash grab and most serious players were forced to buy it they had promised that eventually it would be accessible to f2p players and that was really the only clear cash grab at the time so it was fine. However, now that method has been released! Sounds amazing right! Well unfortunately rare rss are almost impossible to obtain you require 100 of the rare rss to get the double pvp pack and through the rate at which rare rss typically drop through my own experience (I received 3 rare sulphur in about 3-4 months) and several others with similar experiences it would take roughly 8 years to get the double pvp pack through f2p means. So basically u either play for 8 years or spend $100, but hey! Now the devs can claim that it can be acquired through f2p means! As amazing as this game was and its immense potential it’s a shame it turned into your typical cash grab city and army building game. If you have friends that play and you’re willing to spend around $500-$1000 I would say go for it but honestly for most people I wouldn’t recommend this game anymore.
BEWARE HEAVE PAY TO WIN WITH TOXIC PLAY
Wed Feb 09 2022 sidiousGThe game graphics are amazing, I really like the way the mechanics and some of them I haven’t seen anywhere else. The issue for me is this game has the heaviest pay to win set up I’ve seen. You can buy items with real money that greatly improve your pvp. Some of them, I could not find any other way to get them so only with real money. I couldn’t find any explanations online on other ways to get them like completing quests etc. the devs have also set up a very toxic way of getting the resources you have to have to move forward. For example, bronze is required for a ton of enhancements and tier 2 troops. The resource nodes are extremely scarce and you have everyone constantly fighting over them. And the pay yo win players that have purchased stronger pvp power will let you start to farm and wait 30 mins or so and simply clean out everyone sitting on the node. This allows p2w players to not really have to farm. They let others do it and then constantly clean you out. For me.., this game is garbage. I understand that the devs need to make money. And I always spend money. Roughly a 100 dollars a month or more but these guys are very greedy and setting up toxic gameplay on purpose so you want to spend more to continue and compete with the player base. I’ll wait till someone creates something similar and hope they are not like these guys. I never leave reviews but fid here cause of how strongly I feel about what I wrote
Surprisingly amazing
Sun Jul 10 2022 ezbobezThis game is so fun it made me quit playing a different game just so I would have more time to play this one. I personally love anything with customization options and player banner customization in this game is way too fun to mess around with. On top of that the grind in this game is actually enjoyable and the way you can attack other players with real time help from your alliance members amazed me. Being a free to play game I was surprised to see no adds and no over the top pay to win players. Yes there are helpful things that you can buy with real money but they are only things that you can easily get by grinding. And to top it all off, the community is absolutely incredible. Being a pvp/pve game with leaderboard and territories I was surprised to see that everyone is so kind to each other, even going so far as to speak a 2nd language in global chat just so that other players can better understand the conversation. I absolutely love whoever made this game because I’m having way to much fun with it and I hope you developers are having a lovely day.
Predatory, caters to whales
Thu Feb 08 2024 PrincessPeachesJMI really enjoyed this game at first, felt like there was always something to do and so much excitement with battles and character customization. However, this game is tailored to paying players and is quite irritating playing for free. The developers group shards (servers) together with absolute disproportional power, I’m talking 2x your power and 3-4 months ahead of you. Resources are limited, even when you farm for a few hours you still come up absurdly short, forcing you to buy $100 packs. Example: You need ~ 2,900 ‘service honors’ to train your armies and you get maybe 4-5 every enemy you kill. Not to mention the constant crashing every click you make during some hours. You can be mining all day with 6 armies and only get 2-4 of the rare materials you need, from what I heard it didn’t used to be like that, just another example of how they tailored the game to get you to buy packs. The people I’ve met in this game lack authority and power in their own life and climb leadership boards with their credit cards and bully passive players, they are as addicted to this game as they are a drug or substance. You’ll either lose interest in a few months or get suckered into spending your rent money. Please don’t respond “we value your feedback”
More alliance options
Tue Jul 30 2024 Peytonion5421This game is amazing! It’s unique in many ways and extremely addicting. I like the battle mechanics, especially how you control the battle and can watch it and gain reinforcements. The family is awesome too with marriages and trait farming. The build and upgrade mechanics make base design creative and fun, often being unique player to player. The alliances are cool too, with capitals and guilds to take and control the area. But I would say that there should be at least one more important alliance role, and another alliance building to go with it. That would add more appeal and complexity to alliances that I’m sure many other people would enjoy. For example, there could be a treasurer that deals with the treasury and the amount of tax that is earned and distributed to each member. The dragons are a little tough to upgrade once they get up there due to the dragon stone amount needed for the next upgrade, but I think the dragon is a cool addition. Overall i think this game is great and still has great potential and I have recommended this to friends.
Great game but a few suggestions
Sun Jun 19 2022 cheeseburger woth some diicjfVery good game so far but I do wish there was an easier way to take over certain territories. For example, allow alliance leaders and temple keepers to put down bases that offers boosts for the area said bases cover if that makes sense? Like a rise of kingdoms type of thing. I feel that it will bring a level of competition and a goal for many alliances which is why rise of kingdoms is literally one of the most legendary games ever made. Just a suggestion but y’all are doing an amazing job! Another thing….the reinforcement system and the morale drop when u defend other fellow alliance players makes no sense. If I call for reinforcements I don’t want them to come after the first round of troops die I want them to come while they are fighting lol…that’s why it’s called reinforcements because they’re supposed to help the allies already fighting. On the morale deduction when u attack lower players I get it if it’s attacking but say if a player is attacking my weaker alliance member while do I have to be penalized for helping them out? Some things just don’t make sense but overall not a bad game
Good game, but pay to win
Sat Oct 08 2022 AveGamerLike many strategy games like this, Kingdom Maker is pay to win (p2w) as well. It does a better job of not being harsh about it by making you spend money to shield. They took that concept out. But the paywall hits you when you need certain resources. As you progress, you have to spend hours every day to get a CHANCE to get the resources needed to build. It’s designed so you get most, but not all, resources by spending time. But there are some rare resource that take time and then a chance to get. That’s the paywall because if you don’t pay, you fall WAY behind those that regularly pay making free to play (f2p) impossible to compete. It is nice that bigger players are penalized for attacking smaller players. This game has great potential but let’s face it, it’s built for maximum profit of the developer. If you can find an alliance that doesn’t want to be in the top alliances, it’s still a fun game to play. I’d take this over many other similar games for f2p if I didn’t care about winning. Meeting people all over the world is quite cool. Hope that helps.
