I’ve always found marble shooters like Luxor to be a decent way to pass the time. It requires a bit of reflexes and some basic color matching. This 'HD' version looks crisp on an iPad, and the Egyptian theme is well-executed, if a bit cliché. It’s a professional package, certainly better than the hundreds of clones on the App Store.

But let’s be real: the gameplay hasn't changed in twenty years. It’s the same power-ups (fireball, lightning, reverse) and the same difficulty curve. It gets frantic toward the end of a level, which is good, but it never feels like it's challenging my brain—just my patience. It’s a solid 'dad game.' You play it when you don't want to think too hard. I don't hate it, but I’m not excited by it either.

Strategic Matching

Always try to create chains that result in 'gaps.' When you destroy a segment of marbles, the back half will roll backward to rejoin the front if the colors match, giving you a 'Combos' bonus and more time.
