Mexican Train Dominoes 2 is a fantastic digital adaptation of the classic tabletop game. It manages to capture the social strategy of the original while automating the tedious parts like scorekeeping and tile shuffling. It's dominoes. It's hard to screw up dominoes, and to their credit, they didn't. The interface is clean and easy to read, which is vital for a tile-based game. I appreciate that they included custom rules, as everyone seems to play Mexican Train slightly differently.

The AI is competent enough on higher difficulties to provide a challenge, though it occasionally makes some baffling moves. It’s not going to win any awards for innovation, and the visuals are purely functional, but for a 40-year-old looking for a quiet game of tiles, it does the job. It’s a bit overpriced for what it is, but it’s a honest, reliable adaptation.
