Look, another Vampire Survivors clone. At this point, I’m tired of the genre, but Nerd Survivors at least has a sense of humor. Throwing pizza grenades at monsters is a bit juvenile, but I’ll take it over another generic fantasy knight. The 20-minute rounds are tight, though the balance is all over the place. You start off feeling like a wet noodle, and then suddenly you're an unstoppable god, or you're dead in five seconds.
The weapon customization at the 'Forge' is where the real game is. It’s a bit more complex than its peers, which I appreciate. The retro graphics are charming enough, though I’ve seen this 'nerd' humor done better elsewhere. It’s a solid time-waster for the price, but it doesn't do anything to change my mind that the 'survivor' genre is getting bloated. If you like this specific niche, it’s a good entry. If you don't, pizza grenades won't save it for you.
