Gigapocalypse in IOS

Pixel Art Action Destruction

Walkthrough, Guilds, Tips on this special game

Our Site Score

78/100

If you ever wanted to be Godzilla but with a cute, pixelated twist, Gigapocalypse is your game. It’s a 'destruction simulator' that tasks you with leveling cities while fending off puny humans. The loop of smashing buildings, eating people to regain health, and fighting bosses is classic arcade fun. It’s cathartic in a way that only a kaiju game can be.

The RPG elements are surprisingly deep. You can evolve your monsters, unlock new abilities, and even deck out your 'home base' with decorations. The difficulty spikes can be a bit frustrating, and it requires some grinding to get your monster strong enough for the later stages, but the sheer joy of watching a city crumble under your feet makes it worth the effort.

Dinsun Review

Gigapocalypse is a bit like a burger from a fast-food joint: it hits the spot if you're craving salt and grease, but it's not a fine dining experience. I love the pixel art and the clear inspiration from Rampage—smashing buildings as a giant lizard is a timeless joy. However, the game relies far too heavily on grinding. You’ll hit a wall where your Giga just isn't strong enough, forcing you to replay previous levels over and over to earn enough points for the skill tree.

The 'pet' mechanics are a strange addition that feels out of place. Why am I cleaning my world-ending monster's poop? It slows down the pace. For someone who values a tight arcade experience, these extra layers feel like unnecessary padding. It’s a decent enough time-waster, and the boss fights are genuinely impressive, but it lacks the 'one more turn' magic that keeps me coming back to a true classic. It’s a bit too messy for its own good.
