Awesome Game!!!
Fri Aug 09 2024 JacksonNunI’ve been playing this game for only a collective of about 6 to 8 hours (I think😂) and have gotten many great rewards and progressed in the game to a great level! What I really love about this game is the microtransactions in accordance to the actual in-game currency. You can get all of these currencies in good amounts simply by playing the game. No nearly impossible quests requiring you to do hours of work and get only a fraction of rewards that buying gets you, no full frontal add placements that interrupt gameplay, and not much effort required to get rewards and characters. This isn’t me saying the game is too easy no, but it requires a good amount of effort and figuring out strategies and placements to make your efforts to winning assured. The best thing about these efforts is the interactions between playing. I have experienced a great interaction with other users and some who have shared strategies with me like not placing characters until 90 mobs are on the board and where to place allies. This is the first review on a game EVER and I’ve got to say that 111%’s Lucky Defense has truly earned that from me. Thank you 111% for making such a great experience!!!
So unbalanced
Wed Mar 05 2025 bumbot2000While the game can be extremely addicting, after passing the easy mode forget progression. The latest update has made passing hard mode as f2p near impossible. The game’s become tedious and repetitive because aiming for higher stages without a p2p partner isn’t reasonable. The daily dungeons and challenge mode are almost just as bad. The constant bombardment with in-app purchase windows every time you return to the home screen after being slapped in game make me want to pay/play less and less. The servers have also taken a hit with the newest update, constantly dropping connection and removing from games until you restart the app. The lack of variety in gameplay gets to be mind numbing as every game, despite your luck, feels pointless as the monster health and defense ramping are completely ridiculous. I like the game in its concepts and heroes, but the balance curve should be criminal and they really should look for ways to help their player base more. Other games that run events make them feel meaningful and rewarding, but this one has next to no interesting events or modes to keep invested. I want to love it but the balance, greed, and lack of variety just cast such a huge shadow over the good aspects that would make this a hugely addicting, long-lasting title.
Changed rating from 4 to 5
Sun Jun 30 2024 JahjitsuI’m having a blast playing this game. It’s all luck base so it’s very casual. However with that being said, I don’t believe the probability rates of some of the units are accurately depicted. I’ve had many games I would gamble for an Epic unit (25% chance of obtaining one). I’ve used it 10 times in a row in multiple games and wouldn’t get a single Epic unit. 25% is roughly 1/4 draws. Also the waves past level 50 are extremely overtuned unless you’ve paid money to upgrade all your Mythics. I’ve had multiple games where me and my ally would have at least 6 Mythics on each board and it still wouldn’t be enough to get past wave 52.
EDIT:
With the new QOL the game has improved substantially. Many buffs to mythic heroes really give us a chance in every game. I’m very happy with the update and look forward to future updates. However, I still believe the gambling (common, rare, legendary) is being falsely stated. I’ve tested many time gambling for an epic unit and have had many occasions I wouldn’t get a single unit in 20 tries. The game says 25% chance…which would mean in 20 pulls I would get around 5 epic units.
Good free to play time killer
Sat Oct 05 2024 AdamjackkIf you’ve played lucky dice this game is similar, because it was made by the same devs. The main difference is that there’s no pvp or solo mode, all games are two player co-op (with occasional events that add a different mode for a while). This is exactly what a free to play game should be in my opinion, no random ads and you can get everything in the game without spending money, but you have the option to watch ads or spend money to speed up your progress if you want to. My only complaints with it are that there’s no in game friend system, and the in game chat system is a bit difficult to use because the character limit is very small. Every game you play does revolve around getting lucky, but despite what most trailers for the game say you also need a good amount of skill if you want to be able to win consistently. There are 3 difficulties with each one being considerably harder than the last so if you enjoy it you’ll likely be playing for a while (I know I will)
You will hit a huge wall.
Thu Jan 23 2025 UnsatisfiedPlayersThis game is very fun and addicting. There’s a good sprawl between normal and hard mode to do your best and try to level up your mythic to get to your absolute best. And I have to say this game is by far one of the best games I’ve played. BUT, somewhere around level 13-14 it becomes almost impossible to scale any further. You will spend days trying to get just 10 maybe 20 mythic stones to upgrade your mystics. Hopping on hoping that if you get the 2400 recruitment scrolls that you can maybe just land some simple 10s 20s and 30s, No they will screw you over and over and over again. The biggest thing I’ve noticed is this game is great for beginners but, a lot of people quit playing around the 13-14 mark. Developers if you’re reading this, your game has a great concept but needs some serious work or the community will never grow to what you’re wanting. I’ve spent well over $100 on your game and played for about 2 months, the game is fun, the odds in recruiting is terrible and honestly a waste of time even playing. Out of the 3 guilds I’ve joined everyone would quit playing for weeks because the game is too unfair at a certain level and you can’t make any progress. Do better, thank you.
Review AND suggestions!
Sun Dec 01 2024 Eclectic ReviewerEasy to pick up and play. Every round is fresh and fun due to the randomness! Even when you have high level characters and relics, you might just have bad luck. At the same time, you could be brand new and get amazing luck and outshine your teammate! Definitely worth a download and a few rounds of play at the very least!
GUILD SUGGESTIONS!
With the new guild mechanics, perhaps the guild could pool resources to increase draw chances for events and maybe even passive draw chance upgrades for regular play. There could be a “guild boss” where each player can randomly draw a fighter to contribute (the chances being better based on the above contributions) and then the guild players could talk and joke with each other based on their draws! Maybe they could try a new draw every 24 hours and either keep or replace their previous draw. That would be fun! Either way, thank you devs for this great game!
Cool game, but the odds are definitely inaccurate
Sat Mar 08 2025 VentemIt’s a fun game, and can be addicting for sure. But as some other reviews have pointed out, the odds in the lucky summon are definitely inaccurate. There’s no way one should get nothing 10+ attempts in a row when the odds are 20% or above. The odds of that happening is less than 10%. Obviously possible, but it happens so often it’s just frustrating and makes you wonder. You’ll also hit a wall at wave 30 where the enemies just have so much health. This must be the F2P wall where it’s time to grind or start paying. I only got past it thanks to being carried by someone who either had insane luck, or paid for some kind of increased odds in the store because he had a board full of legendaries and mythics I hadn’t even seen yet. On the topic of being carried, I didn’t realize it was a forced multiplayer game. I’d rather play by myself with less enemies than being forced to either carry, or be carried. Also there’s a risk of someone else intentionally not playing properly because they get upset. I wish there was an option to play single player.
Fun way to pass the time
Fri Nov 22 2024 ThatguywhoneverratesIf you enjoy bloons tower defense or any round based defense game, you’ll enjoy lucky defense. I was seeing ads for the game and it actually looked fun to play. I surprisingly gave it a try and was not disappointed. The luck factor and random teammate makes each game different. Collecting cards to upgrade/unlock different hero’s is very satisfying. Although I’ve only played for a few days, the game seems to do a great job at keeping the rewards coming at a consistent rate. This allows you to continue to upgrade and unlock new characters. Many games offer incentives for new players but once a certain level is reached, it’s too much of a grind to make any improvements/progress. The game is no walk in the park, there is some strategy needed, but it’s the perfect balance of fun and challenging. I highly recommend this game, which is saying a lot but cause I don’t think I’ve ever reviewed a mobile game!
Paywall Keeps the Grind Long
Mon Apr 14 2025 UrectumI really like the game and play it pretty regularly, usually at least 4-5 games a day, sometimes more, but progress is painfully slow. Once you reach rank 10 the grind is immense and so slow. In the past month of play I haven’t leveled up once. And basically just forget about ever being “lucky” and unlocking new characters, and buying them is just as much of a grind.
Then if you wanted to pay to win, because let’s be clear this is definitely a pay to win game. You get terrible value on any purchases. $30 dollars for one character and 25,000 gold (which isn’t even enough to level that character up more than 3-4 times) and 100 stones (which similarly is not enough to level up much) is just a ridiculously high price for the terrible value.
Note to the dev team, if you wanna make more money lower the cost of all your in-game transactions. You must be smoking crack if you think that these are normal prices to pay on a mobile game.
Game banned me for refund request
Tue Nov 19 2024 Astute effortlesslyThis has been such a disappointing turn of events for me. I enjoyed the game quite a bit while I was allowed to play. This was such a fun game to play with my fiancé and I honestly feel robbed.
I made an accidental purchase from one of their pop-up ads. Honest mistake. I have made mistakes like this before and gotten a refund no problem. This game makes it impossible to request a refund. Once you go through apple support to request a refund, this game will ban your account for “abuse.” There is a “support” option you can use that feeds your concern into a chat room staffed by what I am assuming is an AI with prefabricated response choices. My account is permanently banned because they consider asking for a refund to be arbitrary if not done through a non-existent in-game process for requesting a refund for a purchase. No questions asked, I just received a permanent ban with no appeal for a first offense over a mistaken $3 purchase. I don’t even remember what the rewards were, but they could easily be reclaimed from my account instead of having to permanently ban me. I hope no one else finds themselves in this situation.
